Designed to accommodate both couples and families with teenage children, Manatu offers flexible bedroom configurations to suit your needs.

The space
Manatu draws inspiration from traditional Polynesian architecture to create a naturally comfortable and sustainable indoor environment. High ceilings, concrete construction, gable vents, and insect-proof louvred windows work together to moderate the temperature and bring the outside in.

At the same time, modern conveniences are at your fingertips. Enjoy unlimited Starlink Wi-Fi, a Netflix-enabled smart TV, and an Alexa speaker system for music and information in the main room — all the comforts of home, right here in paradise.

A spacious deck and undercover dining area provide effortless indoor-outdoor flow, making mealtimes and entertaining a breeze. Bask in the sounds of waves gently crashing, native birds singing, and the soothing scent of tropical blooms as you unwind in this tranquil island escape.

Shaun and Lorna began their Rarotonga dream in 2005, building a small cottage that became the base for family holidays and island adventures. Two decades later, in 2025, we replaced that much-loved cottage with Manatu, our brand-new holiday home. We’re based in Nelson, New Zealand, and we hope you enjoy your stay in our little slice of paradise.
