House holiday rentals in A Guarda

We had a great time in Afife and enjoyed our stay at Joaos place. The location was very quiet (except the Honda shop across the street in the daytime) and Afife has not much to offer, which was okay for us but should be known in advance if you plan on eating outside. Porto is great to be reached by train and the beach is very close. With 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms there’s enough space for a big group and everything was very comfortable. The pool was open already and was cleaned during our stay. The only thing which I would point out on the negative side is that when we arrived it smelled a bit mouldy, probably due to the rainy weather and the fact that 3 of the bathrooms don’t have windows. The staircase to the lower part of the house is very steep. That’s a fact you should know when travelling with small kids. Joao was perfect to contact and always responded quickly whenever there were any questions. Thanks for having us. We would totally recommend to stay at his place.

Really beautiful home with stunning views, absolutely loved our stay here thanks for having us. Fully equipped kitchen and the space is absolutely gorgeous throughout. Brilliant outdoor area for dining and sunbathing. Garden and pool in full sunshine whenever you want to use them but a nice shaded area for dining. Only slight disappointment was the home did not have air con as advertised (it was underfloor heating) so we were quite hot at night and struggled to sleep. The heating system was adjusted and our host provided fans for each bedroom to try and help cool the house. Overall fantastic property.

Beautiful home with amazing views. Comfortable, well designed, recently constructed and super clean. The kitchen is well stocked for meal preparation. There are spectacular views over the lake from almost every room. The house stayed cool during the warm May weather; no air-conditioning was needed. The Host Mari provided helpful directions (I recommend using map coordinates) and recommendations for grocery store and restaurants. There are two access roads to the house from N-554; we found it easiest to arrive from the north and depart via the south access road. The neighborhood is quiet and people were friendly. We look forward to returning!

A rare opportunity to stay in a special house designed by an award winning architect. Marta was helpful, met us with cake and wine.

We loved the house very much, we believe it is great for both a group of friends and family. The house had plenty of games to choose from. As far as the hostess is concerned, she is very friendly and has always been shown to be available.

Our stay there was fantastic. The house is new, clean and very spacious and comfortable. In addition, José Carlos and his family were very kind. The area is also very nice, both the beach and its surroundings.

Beautiful home is ponte de Lima. Close to the town center and surround towns. About an hour away from Porto. Lots to see and do within short drives. Home is private and cozy. Would recommend.

Our four night stay at Casa do Trigo was excellent. We felt right at home. The location is ideal; close to restaurants and shopping, in old town, great walking area, safe, and quiet. The home smelled fresh upon entry, and was very clean. The beds are comfortable and the linens are luxurious. The room darkening shades work great. The furniture is comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are clean and the rain shower heads are a nice feature. The towels are thick and soft. The kitchen is nice and functional. The heating and air conditioning are easy to use and kept home comfortable. The open-air garage/carport is convenient and secure. Our compact car just fit at an angle. The measurements listed in the description are accurate. It is also tricky to get in and out of. The street is a narrow one-lane, dead end street. Gereviana was helpful, professional, and responded quickly to our messages. They met us at checkin, and provided checkin treats. We would stay here again!

We had the most wonderful month-long stay at this beautiful home in Portugal. The house itself is stunning—spacious, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. It had everything we needed, especially in the kitchen, which was fully equipped for cooking at home. It really felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect if you’re looking to unwind and enjoy a peaceful break away from the city. It’s calm and quiet, yet only 20–30 minutes by car to some absolutely charming towns nearby—great for day trips and exploring the area. The hosts were absolutely lovely—welcoming, responsive, and genuinely kind. When we unexpectedly had some car trouble, they went out of their way to help us get things sorted quickly, which we really appreciated. All in all, this was a truly fantastic experience and we’re already looking forward to coming back if we’re in Portugal next year. Highly, highly recommended..!

We love our stay! The house was impeccably clean and comfortable to welcome us. Cristina and her husband were very friendly and attentive! The outdoor space is excellent for enjoying family moments, as well as the view from the kitchen/living room, every day we dine with a view of the sunset. The house is very close to supermarkets, restaurants and even the beach and the walkways. We really like it!

The house is a stand alone accomodation with a lovely front terrace surrounded by fields....if you love nature, this is it...close by is a super restsurant if you don't feel like cooking and about 15 min max a coffee shop...so basically you don't need anything else...

Our stay at Coura's home could not be better. Mrs. Bela very attentive, always at your disposal for any requests and help. The house is surrounded by nature, only the birds are heard, very quiet all day. Clean and organized, the kitchen has all the necessary utensils and were even willing to provide us with an additional table to work. We spent two months in the winter season with the house always kept by heating. Impeccable Internet and excellent privacy. Above all, the biggest point to point out are the owners and their huge hearts. We had the great honor and happiness of making friends and getting to know the culture/cuisine of the north. It is a differential for those who want to know the way of life of the countryside, as they also took us to know the animals and details of their day-to-day work. We carry many memories and affection of this special place, amazing people who have left their records in our history, our best experience in Portugal!

Perfect location for a quiet and quiet vacation with the family. Good swimming pool and the fantastic house, garden and swimming pool relationship. Close to Caminha, the beaches of the area and close enough, for a getaway to Spain.

At the beginning of June 2025, we spent a week in the cozy Tiny House of Clarisse & Manuel. The garden is beautiful, as is the surrounding area with village, fields, sea coast and forest. Praia de Paco is a very beautiful natural beach. Our hosts were very friendly & pleasant. The orange cake is a dream! Muito obrigado😀! We are on vacation without a car. The few connections of the local train were enough for us. Arrival and departure by taxi from Viana do Castrlo worked perfectly. Beatrice and Luzi

Mário and Judite were amazing hosts! Really responsive and friendly and provided great recommendations and really easy face to face check in and out! The space was pristine and everything was thought of. Everything in the space was of great quality from the appliances to the linens. The pool area is lovely and gardens well kept, the fire pits and bbq are ready to use straight away too! I would 100% recommend this to anyone. It was such a peaceful and relaxing stay with everything we could have needed :)

The treatment with Pilar and Nacho was exceptional, very attentive at all times, and they responded very quickly. The house is wonderful, very quiet, with all the amenities and very close to the river, which has very quiet and clean beaches. Add that there is a river path that runs along the entire coastline reaching the same Guard. A few more years will definitely repeat the experience at this wonderful home.

Altogether a very enjoyable stay. Really well equipped home and generously stocked kitchen. The view from the house is glorious and the location amidst eucaplytus pine wild fennel. A looked after garden with overhanging lemon and lime trees and a series of well tendered lawns is perfect. Lovely 1.5 hr walk up high behnd the house to chapel. Carminha is a beautiful town 2.4 klm away : easy to park and easy getting in and out : lots of restaurants and pasterlerias and cafes. When you just arrive it is worth going 7 klms west along coast road to big supermarket :Continiente (signs on road) to stock up. Local lovely beach on the edge of town located eucaplyptus forest :easy parking- lifeguarded and has cafe. Beaches futher along the coast road . Inland from the house in a nearby village of Murios is small lake open to all for swimming and picnicing.. Great to come back to the house each day and everything to hand. Vitor exceptional host: kind,responisive and organised.

A very nice house in a privileged place in A Guarda, very close to the port and the promenade, very well maintained, clean and with all kinds of details. The hostess is very kind and whenever we had to talk to her, she answered right away. We'll be back for sure

The cottage was very cozy and had everything you needed. The hosts were very attentive and very kind. We were traveling with children and they had a trunk full of things for them. We also liked that they had a large area in the front of the house where the children could play freely. If we are in the area, we will repeat for sure. Thank you very much for everything 🙌🙌🙌
