Fogar das Buxainas is a family project that was born in 2025 and gives name and life to a story told by my grandmother. Fogar das Buxainas means Home of the Spinning Top, because the owner of the house used to make spinning tops for the children of the village of Arcos. Thanks to this man's generosity, they could play and have fun in those difficult times.

The first mentions of the Compostelana chapter property in the vicinity of Ribadavia date back to the end of the 12th century. The chapel dedicated to Santiago, along with the manor house, belonged to the Cabildo De Santiago, which personally exploited it due to its wealth in the production of the highly valued Ribeiro wine.

Froufe Farmhouse

The house of "Sítio de Froufe" is located in Lugar de Froufe, in the parish of S. Miguel between both rivers in the municipality of Ponte da Barca, geographically within the territory of the Peneda Gerês National Park. What is now the "Sítio de Froufe" was for many years used as a shelter for animals and storage for agricultural products.
