Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Alleghany County

A fabulous place that made us feel right at home. My kids loved the Christmas tree being there for Christmas seemed so real when we were traveling. A beautiful home with a fabulous host!

This place was so cute. I felt like we were staying in a house made for a Hallmark Christmas movie. Kim was a great host! She was so polite and quick to respond!

Our stay at the cabin was wonderful! It’s an easy drive to Sparta, NC or to Independence, VA. The views of the New River are amazing and there’s plenty of space to spread out on the property. We hosted a dinner with family that we have in the area; the deck/porch was a tranquil place to have dinner, view the river, and listen to the creek nearby. Our hosts communicated clearly, were exceptionally responsive, and are just very nice people. We hope to stay here the next time we visit the area. Thank you to our wonderful hosts!

The house was exactly as described. It was also way more equipped than we anticipated. Plenty of linens, starting sets, stocked kitchen, etc. Would definitely recommend to folks looking for a peaceful getaway. Will definitely rent again.

Nelly was a great host. Her home was beautiful. Everything was extremely clean. It was peaceful there. It was a perfect place to continue our family tradition of spending a weekend away to relax with family and venture out to find our CHRISTmas tree. Nelly also left a sweet card and goodies for us. It was so thoughtful of her to do that. Thank you Nelly for being an amazing host!!

The farmhouse was just adorable and exactly as described in the post. I have a permanent camper at a near by camp site and the space was perfect for my parents and brother to stay over Memorial Day weekend. The home had lots of charm and character. There was plenty space and the home was very neat and clean. The host was very accommodating as well.

I rented this place for my family during Thanksgiving. The house was neat, clean, and free of clutter. The view is beautiful. I believe the house is new on airbnb, so the hosts are still setting everything up. The gas fireplace was not yet ready for use and the kitchen could use more microwave safe dishes as well as serving dishes (platers, serving bowls, etc.). The hosts were very responsive. Overall, I would definitely rent it again.

We found Ann's place to be very comfortable with lots of room indoors and out. She has provided so many amenities, particularly the stocked kitchen. I always pack a bag of extras (paper towels, wraps, spices, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc) because so many places are skimpy on that stuff. I'll know next time not to bring a thing! We all enjoyed playing the board games and yard games provided. The hot tub was delightful after the little ones went to bed. The setting is truly gorgeous with views of farms and mountains in the distance. The sunsets were outstanding, as were the stars at night. We were able to drive for nearby hiking and exploring the area towns.

We had a nice stay. Everything was as promised and the host was very friendly. We had everything we needed. Beautiful view in a peaceful mountain setting. Kitchen was well equipped and bed was comfortable. Large, beautiful shower.

If there were 10 stars, they'd get 11! Everything we desired in our weekend get-away was here. Jim & Kathy are exceptional hosts. They greeted us on arrival & helped assist us get settled. The apt. was beautifully & tastefully decorated w/ so many unique & interesting embellishments! They have done such a nice job making the most of each space in this apartment, from the coffee/wine space to the kitchen/laundry space, to the Bathroom, the living room, the office space & bedroom. It was so much fun wandering through each part of the apt. & enjoying the LOVE they have poured into this location. I have never stayed at an Airbnb that was as fully stocked as this one. Kathy has thought of everything, & I mean everything that you could possibly want or need away from home. Being greeted w/ fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies touched our hearts (& stomachs)! We also enjoyed the private and very comfortable front porch during the mornings with our coffee!! This is A MUST STAY!

The Blue Mountain Apartment was absolutely perfect for my weekend at App State graduation! The apartment was extremely clean, organized, nicely decorated and stocked with everything I needed. I would highly recommend staying here if you want somewhere comfortable with a beautiful view for a peaceful getaway.

This is a peaceful apartment that couldn't be closer to the App State campus (including the stadium!). Kevin was communicative and shared some helpful recommendations. The home was well stocked and we absolutely loved spending time on the patio surrounded by beautiful trees. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Boone.

Just wow! There’s so much charm and character in this place. It felt just like home to our family . We loved the rental so much that we made breakfast and dinner in the cozy rental each day of our stay - so relaxing. Love… love all the decor and style. Owner provided everything needed from cookware, linens, soap, iron, and etc. The owner thought of it all. It’s one of my favorite rentals ever. It is spacious for 4 people, even with 1 bath. Never did we feel on top of each other - very comfortable. We will definitely be back. We usually stay downtown but decided to try something new this trip and glad we did. Location is close to the town. Only a couple blocks away. We got lots of rest here which is not the case at most of the downtown condos with the traffic noise at night. Beds were on point - very comfy! I can’t say enough good things about this place. Thankful to the host as she accepted our rental request within 1 hour of our stay and made it happen.

This bottom floor apartment was in a gorgeous, quiet neighborhood that was close to all the West Jefferson places we like to visit. It was clean and organized. I loved the little “extra thoughtful amenities” that were available if you forgot things from home. My favorite part was sitting on the porch drinking coffee relaxing while two hummingbirds hovered for a minute.

Marsha’s place was a dream. We drove from Maine (13 hours) and planned on stopping in Roanoke but with a dog took a stab at finding an Airbnb. Lo and behold, a dog friendly option with a yard and multiple beds and rooms for our teenage boys and us? And cheaper than a hotel? Yes please. With coffee, linens, towels, and great food options nearby, not to mention it’s literally right off the highway, it was perfect!

Beautiful home and setting. The home was comfortable with all the amenities you could hope for. The pond was awesome! We had a wonderful weekend and hope to come back again!

I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to unwind in nature. We had a great time celebrating our anniversary. It was so cozy and there were so many little details that made it the perfect little place. The view from cabin 1 was great and we were able to watch the sunrise over the hills. It was an amazing place for star gazing. We never left the cabin and it was a perfect place to rest and recharge in nature. The only thing I would want to warn about is that the hill to get from the parking area and bathrooms to the cabin is pretty steep. It was manageable but if you have difficulty with mobility it could be tough. But overall would highly recommend!

Loved this place! Beautiful, cozy, peaceful, everything you'd want in a mountain cabin. There were 5 of us all working on our computers and the wifi was strong. The kitchen was relatively well-stocked, but I'm glad I brought my own chef knife, and I would bring some other utensils from home next time, like a rubber spatula and a stainless steel mixing bowl. We were surprised to find that there was an extra bedroom not listed! There are actually 4 bedrooms, counting the upstairs room that has 2 twin beds. The driveway was steep and long, and the host recommended 4WD, but we made it up in our minivan. Would absolutely stay here again!

Great place to stay. Dog friendly and clean. Super cute and cozy. Private and quiet. It was perfect and would recommend and would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at Spruced Up! Everything was clean and the hot tub was amazing. Peaceful and quiet, a little tricky to get to right now because of the work on the Parkway but lots of alternative routes.

This a great house to stay and enjoy the peaceful scenery! The host is very responsive and communicative on everything you need to know. The house was stocked with any essential items that you need. I would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay in this lovely cabin. We had to leave a little early for personal reason but we enjoyed everything, amazing views, so peaceful and cozy and the weather, especially the rain at night. My husband absolutely loved the shower lol. Thank you Linda and Denis 💗

Our stay at this cabin in the North Carolina mountains exceeded all expectations. It offered the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation, with plenty of outdoor activities and a comfortable, peaceful place to retreat to at the end of the day.
