Approximately 10 mins from M5 junction 23 a perfect stop to spend a night or more exploring nearby surroundings, or attending a wedding nearby, or to break up a long journey. Quantock Hills are a 10min drive. Bridgwater train station 20 to 30 mins walk. Walking distance to the town centre, supermarkets and public transport. Adults only. After a day spent exploring this beautiful part of the country, you can relax in the inviting hot tub whilst savouring the 180-degree view across the Somerset Levels. Portcullis End Cottage is a quirkily-decorated self-catering retreat giving you the best of both worlds: 5 mins walk from the river, independent High Street, cafes & shops. Bring your SUP, bike or kayak! There's a small private courtyard for alfresco dining and stargazing. Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome with no fee, please get in touch if you have more than 2 dogs. There are no other dogs on the premises. PLS NOTE: This private location has a strict no-visitors policy.

Myrtle cottage is a modern, dedicated living space annexed to our 17th century thatched cottage. Pitney itself is a delightful small village situated above The Levels. There is a traditional pub serving real ales, local ciders and great home cooked food and the superb Pitney Farm shop offering organic meat and veg from the mixed farm & market garden. The area offers lovely walks directly from our garden up into the hills at High Ham or down on to The Levels and the river Carey.
