We had a fantastic time at The Stables celebrating our rescue greyhound’s fifth birthday - she got to run around happily in the enclosed garden whilst we enjoyed our complimentary Prosecco in the hot tub!Secluded location, relaxing and everything you could need thought of by Paul & Fiona. Beautiful location for a lovely farm stay, great views from the hot tub! Loved being able to watch the cows and sheep. Claire was lovely and was ready to help at any moment despite us arriving so late at night! Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Cosy cottage with access to private beach on Windermere Fabulous hot tub, thoughtful touches everywhere - towels and sliders for the hot tub/lake, welcome hamper with lots of goodies, lovely wood burning stove Sauna and table tennis and marble run through the wood available - we didn’t have time to use everything - thanks for a lovely stay

Lovely cottage. You would never be able to tell that pets are allowed as it’s so clean and smells lovely. Garden is lovely and private, and cottage is so cosy. Sofa and beds are very comfy too. Has everything needed for a weekend away . Will definitely return if welcome.

Teapot Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. It was very well kitted out, decorated very nicely, and had lots of nice touches to make our stay even better. Lammisa was a great host - very responsive and friendly, and was happy to help whenever needed. There's great local amenities within walking distance, and several local villages and towns within a short drive, including Ennerdale Lake. The place was very comfortable, with plenty of seating indoor and out, with several comfy beds suitable for a group of adults. The only thing to be aware of is that the bedroom with the bunk beds has very little storage space, so if you're staying for a few days and have a large bag/suitcase - you'll need to find somewhere else to put it! Overall - we were all very pleased with this stay and we'd definitely book again in future.

What an absolute gem we found in Apple House. The pictures really don't do the whole place justice! A cosy, romantic house set in beautiful, serene surroundings. It really was the perfect location for our mini moon! Was lovely to be greeted by the chickens and Russel the dog each morning <3 We were treated to some tasty welcome gifts and the place was spotless, very comfy bed and just the most charming decor. Thank you so much Emma and Craig! We will definitely be returning with more of our family!

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay at Cleator. The cottage was exactly as described and we had everything we needed. It was easy to find and there was parking outside most days. We wanted a walking holiday and this cottage was perfect - it is right on the famous Wainwright Coast to Coast National Trail (in fact the route is on the pavement outside!) and you can walk back to St Bees or up towards Ennerdale Bridge. You can also walk down to the Ehen river in one minute. We also drove out to walk Scaffel Pike and Haystacks as well as reaching other parts of the C2C towards Grasmere. A drive to Ravensglass is also recommended - it's a beautiful untouched village on the Esk estuary with a narrow gauge railway that takes you up to Eskdale. Thank you to David and Victoria who were extremely welcoming and helpful with a couple of questions that we had whilst there. For great food shopping, we used the Coop at Egremont and Cleator Moor which were both just over a five minute drive away.

Beautiful modern rustic cottage in the countryside, exactly what you want if you want peace, comfort and luxury. Emma & Gregor are amazing! Great communication and little extra treats to greet you when you arrive ! Absolutely recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage on Wastwater. The setting is stunning — right on the lake and surrounded by beautiful walking routes, perfect for exploring with our 18-month-old and dog. The cottage is tucked away on a peaceful farm with a great outdoor seating area to enjoy the views. It’s quite remote, with the nearest proper shop about 30 minutes away, but the nearby campsite shop (just half a mile down the road) had the essentials we needed. Other than that, everything was perfect. A truly relaxing break in a beautiful location — we’d definitely recommend it!

My husband and I (and our two dogs) had our mini-moon here and it was just the relaxing break we needed. The dogs settled straight away and it's the most sleep we've had in years. Lisa was super helpful throughout and we couldn't have been more grateful for our beautiful stay away. Thanks again, Laura xx

Lovely, cosy cottage. Very warm, despite the inclement weather. Under floor heating was lovely! We lit a fire one evening, although we didn't really need it, and it was great!

A real gem. It’s better than the photos show. Full of character yet modern standards and amenities. Quality furnishings and kitchen equipment. Excellent mattress, soft, comfortable sheets and towels. So lovely that it’s family owned from someone born and still living in the area. Everything has been thought through so well equipped. Can’t wait to come back. We loved every minute of our stay. It’s in our top 5 of places we’ve stayed in. Thank you

Our stay could not have been better. Although ephemeral to our visit the only thing that could have made our stay easier would have been the presence of a dishwasher. Of course this does not in any way detract from a property which has been set up perfectly by Victoria, for the enjoyment of her visitors. The sort of place you would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone interested in visiting this fascinating area on the Cumbrian/Northumberland border.

My husband, son, and I visited the Strawberry Cottage for four days and four nights recently and we had a wonderful time. It was the perfect size for us - ample space to lounge and cook meals. The beds were comfy so we got great sleep. And the location was perfect - just steps away from so many restaurants, the bus stop to adventures in nearby towns, and lots of trails around Derwentwater. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at Crook a Beck Barn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property. It is well equipped, with a great kitchen, plenty of wardrobe space and a large walk in shower alongside a large bath. It is in a peaceful setting with beautiful views and has all levels of walks available straight from the property. We enjoyed the extras especially the lemon drizzle cake made by Judith. We will definitely books this property again on our next visit to Patterdale.

Fabulous little cottage, quiet and comfy - perfect little get away!

Perfect, practical and quiet hideaway for a few days stay in the Lakes. Responsive host, all the amenities you need. Would love to stay here again.

The River Barn exceeded all of our expectations and was even more beautiful than the pictures portrayed. The River Barn was very comfortable (the bed was awesome) and all amenities to prepare meals, enjoy a BBQ or go on a picnic were readily available. The location was perfect for our purposes; we greatly appreciated the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of the property but it also provided easy access to Windemere, Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick where we enjoyed going on several walks. We can't say enough positive comments about our host, Otto communicated with us on several occasions and provided us with lots of information --- where to eat, where to visit and nearby walks. If interested in enjoying a delicious Sunday roast, be sure to reserve a table early at one of the two pubs within easy walking distance. We highly recommend staying at the River Barn and can't wait to visit again!!

What an amazing place! Susan’s home was lovely and located on a beautiful dairy farm. We were immediately welcome by her cats Lucky and Clover (who we adopted for our stay). Susan was always available to answer our questions and took us on a tour of the farm to meet the cows. The house was about 7 minutes from a great village called cockermouth which had pubs, restaurants and many bakeries. A little further and you are in keswick which is one of the bigger towns. We took a boat from there across derwentwater to the famous Catbells and also took a rowboat out on the lake. We also went for a beautiful walk around buttermere lake and a hike into the borrowdale valley. And we even popped over the border into Scotland. It was an amazing trip and a wonderful place to stay. We really enjoyed our weekend at Beachcombers Cottage! We were very comfortable, the bed is super comfy, we enjoyed having the use of a bath and the garden is delightful. Buy your food before you get there as shopping is limited, drink in The Ship. Chris, the bar manager is fabulous and the locals are great fun! Thank you Di for being such a great host and for the wine and chocs - much appreciated !
