The famous Dovedale beauty-spot is easily accessible straight from the cottage. There are 2 good cycling trails close by where you can hire bikes or if you bring your own we have a secure bike store.A very warm welcome awaits!

Alstonefield, Peak District National Park

Elm cottage is a great place to escape to and explore the Peak District including Thors Cave, Hartington, Tissington and Mam Tor. Local pubs, cafes and shops are excellent, just a short drive away and public footpaths from on site. We have some local walks from site on National Trust land. Away from the hustle and bustle, this peaceful spot has unrivalled far reaching views of the peaks and your own bench outside to enjoy them, or the stars! Delightful converted Stables offering one bedroom accommodation in the beautiful Peak District village of Alstonefield. The cosy living room includes a much admired kitchenette with stairs leading to the galleried bedroom and ensuite shower room. There are numerous scenic walks from the door, with the River Dove 10 mins walk away. Other attractions nearby include Chatsworth House and the Tissington Trail. The village also boasts a Michelin guide restaurant and a regular concert programme.

Dove Cottage is a former Victorian fishing lodge in a unique setting on the banks of the river Dove. It is situated 3/4 mile from the pretty village of Alstonefield and 5 1/2 miles north of the bustling market town of Ashbourne. The cottage overlooks a tranquil stretch of river running through Wolfscote Dale and a historic former water mill. A riverside footpath passes the bottom of the garden leading north along the river to Hartington and south to Dovedale and the Stepping Stones.

Hawthorne Cottage is a lovely recently refurbished limestone cottage in the glorious Derbyshire Peak District just steps away from Hartington village centre and its 2 friendly pubs, a perfect place for a relaxing break or for the more energetic there’s great walks (dogs welcome!) and cycling trails on the doorstep. We have the great advantage of 2 PARKING SPACES and a lock up for cycles. The terraced gardens afford views over the village and surrounding hills beyond.
