45年前に茶道家が自らのお稽古場として建てた、本格的な茶室を備える古民家です。 私たちはこの家を受け継ぎ、荒れてしまった庭を10年かけて少しずつ再生しながら守ってきました。 白椿にはテレビを置いていません。 その代わりに、お茶を点てること、庭を眺めること、本を読むこと、家族や友人と語り合うことを大切にしています。 庭には80種類を超える植物や樹木が育ち、かつて茶道家が育てていた茶花も再び花を咲かせています。天然石のテラスでは、人目を気にすることなく読書やお茶の時間を楽しめます。 茶室には京都の職人による丁寧な仕事が今も残り、静かで穏やかな時間が流れています。 滞在中は、本格的な茶碗の中からお気に入りを選び、ご自身で抹茶を点てる体験をお楽しみください。茶筅と抹茶をご用意しています。 また、日本文化や芸術に触れられるライブラリや、障子越しの柔らかな光に包まれた小さな書斎「Reading & Writing Nook」もご用意しています。 白椿は、観光地を巡るための宿ではありません。 日本人が昔から大切にしてきた穏やかな暮らしの時間を体験するための宿です。

　宿泊施設は山あいにある築40年になる昔ながらのたたずまいを残している古い和風の一軒家です。和室8畳１間と10畳2間の広々としたスペースがあることから家族旅行あるいは親しい友人同士のグループ旅行に適した間取りです。もちろん、お一人様のご予約も承ります。予約された滞在期間中は他のゲストは受け入れませんので気兼ねなくお過ごしいただけます。ただし、各お部屋の仕切りは襖だけなのでそれぞれのお部屋はプライベートなお部屋としてはご利用できません。300坪の敷地内に建てられた住宅のため、隣家とは離れているのでご近所に気兼ねなく滞在できます。夏の期間中は前庭でバーベキューや花火などに興じることも可能です。もし、星に興味をお持ちなら晴れた夜には保有する光学機器で星空もご案内いたします。日中はドローンを使って庭先の上空から周辺の山々を空中散歩することも可能です。ここは都会では決して味わうことのない静かで自然豊かな環境と岩手県の遠野と共通する南部地方特有の古い伝統文化を今も色濃く残した地域です。なお、11月1日から翌年3月19日までの期間は冬季休業とさせていただきますのでご理解ください。
