Certified by Tourism NI, all our rooms (except the bathroom!) have spectacular sea views. Restaurants only a short drive away with mountains, golf courses, nature reserves and much more within easy reach.

The Little Birdhouse

Graded 5 Star by Tourism NI, our tiny cottage dates from the 1700s. Its name is both a nod to Bird Island on Strangford Lough and a reflection of our aim to create a cosy nest in which guests feel snug, comfy and relaxed. The cottage has recently been renovated but retains its historic charm. The furnishings are a mix of antique, vintage and second-hand finds that come together to create a cosy, relaxed, eclectic vibe that's stylish and reflects our commitment to recycle and re-use.

The Stables at Ballyward Croft

Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place. Why not book either a seaweed bath or lavender milk bath on arrival! This will be prepared for you in the private outdoor hot bath! You can bring bubbles and essential oils of your choice to this massive round bath and watch the stars in the clear uninterrupted skies… We have two Pygmy goats which can be viewed from your cottage, also 20 chickens will roam free and provide you with fresh eggs for breakfast.

The cosy cottage provides perfect accommodation for up to 4 people. You can enjoy the spa pool, sauna, and paddle boards whilst experiencing breath-taking views. The cottage is located a stones throw from the beach, with stunning views looking over Strangford Lough and the Mourne Mountains. Only 5 minutes walk is the village of Kircubbin, where there are pubs, restaurants and a supermarket. With the water so close, wake up to the sounds, views & smell of the sea.

Take a break and unwind at our peaceful country cottage, with great views of the countryside, relax in the hot tub, maybe enjoy the sunset from the tub! we are Chris and Hannah, the owners of the Gate House and look forward to welcoming you for a relaxing rural break. The Gate House is located at the end of a country lane, as such it is not the most even of surfaces! vehicles with very low suspension may struggle 😬 we hope to see you soon Chris and Hannah

Plenty of space for 3 guests with two bedrooms (double and single beds) and an open living/dining/kitchen area. Cot and high chair available for infants- advise us if required. Enjoy the setting of this romantic Luxury Mountain Escapes on a working sheep and cattle farm in the Dromara Hills, nestled in nature. Between Castlewellan and Dromara, 15min drive to Newcastle, 25min from Belfast. A couples retreat with a new electric hot tub in the middle of a mountain, sheep as the only possible disturbance. Our Free range hens, who give our guests eggs in our welcome pack. Look out for Honey the Falabella pony and afew goats.

Close to the villages of Portaferry, Cloughey and Strangford, the area is rich in wildlife and heritage. Or just relax by the fire and soak up the magic of this unique place. Our other cottage, which is immediately adjacent, sleeps 4 and people often rent the two properties together for larger groups.
