Family-friendly holiday rentals in Ards and North Down

We were new to this quiet part of Northern Ireland and it was a rare find to discover the Mourne Mountains, beaches and small villages close by. Jill’s home was the perfect escape for our family when we wanted to relax, cook, play games and watch movies. The hot tub was a bonus which we enjoyed despite the wet and cold rainy days. Would love to come back as we felt right at home

Lynne’s place was perfect! Just as she described. She welcomed us as soon as we arrived. The location was ideal. We covered a lot of ground from Belfast to Bushmills. The town of Dromore and Hillsborough are delightful. Would highly recommend!

The location of this house so near to the beach is just lovely. The area, at the base of the Mourne mountains is also lovely, the granite stone walls are particularly cool. The village of Annalong is quiet and you would need a car to get around the area. Well stocked Circle K shop very nearby and the pizza from YoYo was delicious. The owner next door was so friendly and helpful and I fully intend on staying again.

This house was absolutely beautiful, with beautiful views, everything you would need in a house. The hot tub was amazing especially in the evenings looking over the bay. Trevor was kind and a lovely host. Always contactable if needed .

Thank you Mark and Jenny for a wonderful stay at the Wee House. You are top hosts. Your cookies were a lovely welcome and a very nice way to kick off our holiday. We love the house with the comfy sofas and cosy log fire. The perfect place to relax after our walks. And what an added bonus the woodland spa was! Perfectly situated by the river with all the sounds of nature around. We loved it. Hope to see you again soon. 😃.

Annette was a fabulous host, very understanding when we got delayed as we were hiking Slieve Donard, super friendly and made us feel right at home! The apartment itself was wonderful, so clean and tidy! The hot tub was a brilliant touch as it was nice to relax after climbing a mountain all day. 100% would love to stay again next time we’re in the county!

We had the perfect getaway with friends in this beautiful house by the sea. We were 4 adults and 3 young children and there was plenty of space for us all. There are lots of stairs which were difficult at times for the younger ones. But that didn’t take away from our stay. We got the hot tub which we thoroughly enjoyed once the kids were in bed. Would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful stay, we brought our 2 dogs and all thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Aileen is a superb host, always on hand to answer any questions or just have a quick chat. We enjoyed watching the horses and chickens being attended to throughout the day and the hot tub was a lovely way to end the days after walking along the beach or hiking in the mountains. 100% recommend

Excellent accommodation for our family of 7 with plenty of space and spare bedrooms with good local amenities and a beach close by. Only setback was the closure of the free public car park close by on the bank holiday which led to searches for space as close to the house as possible. This didn’t change our view of this excellent accommodation

The cottage was perfect for us, we stayed for 3 nights to attend a wedding in the local area. There was plenty of space and great amenities. Kelsie is lovely and so helpful and really made our stay perfect. Would recommend this cottage to anyone who is visiting Killyleagh. Thanks Kelsie!

Great host and really lovely stay. Welcomed with not only human warmth but a fresh loaf of bread. Hidden gem of a staycation that would really recommend if looking to get away for a night to relax and unwind. Sunsets over the quiet stretches of fields were so picturesque they looked like they were straight off a post card. Thanks so much again.

We stayed at Ellen’s Airbnb for a wedding, and had a fantastic time! It has everything you could need and really felt like a home away from home. Maureen who greeted us was also lovely and had put the kettle on before we arrived. Would definitely recommend!

In the heart of Ballyholme this was very central to all amenities and 2 minutes from the sea. We stayed over Xmas and the house was a home from home. Excellently equipped kitchen and cosy living room where we could relax and spend time as a family which we don’t often get a chance to do. We had issues connecting to the internet - totally our fault, and Tara was quick to come back with the correct instructions. Also very flexible with checking in / out which made life very easy for us. A very enjoyable Xmas

We had a wonderful stay at Anne’s. The house met all our needs as a family with three children. Communication was very friendly and speedy. The location was great with shops and cafes in Donaghadee town centre a walk / short drive away. As well as the commons by the coast for beautiful walks. We would definitely recommend.

The Boathouse is perfect ,very peaceful setting and sitting on the decking watching the dolphins and wildlife was brilliant. The Boathouse has all amenities needed for a great stay . only a ten minute walk into Portaferry . I would definitely recommend the Boathouse.

Our second stay at Joe’s property was as great as our first. The house is incredibly well equipped and furnished. We are a family of 5 and the house was a prefect size for us all. We really do feel it is a home rather than just accommodation. Joe is always reachable and happy to help. Many thanks to Joe once again for making our stay so welcoming and comfortable (the Christmas tree was a lovely touch!)
