Holiday rentals with breakfast in Armamar

This was a dream vacation - we had just moved to Portugal and spent 2 weeks getting setup. We wanted a quiet week as a family to rest before school started. This place was perfect: perched on a mountainside in the middle of vines, the space was quiet, peaceful and beautifully designed and appointed. Paulo, the husband, is an architect who refurbishes vintage designer furniture. Teyna, the wife, is an amazing chef. Her breakfasts (included) we delicious and the dinners they offer in their adjoining restaurant and well crafted and tasty. Their place is pet friendly - we brought our dog, and they have a dog, two cats and two birds. We did outings to Porto, nearby Roman ruins, historic villages and swam in the rivers running through them. It was delightful.

Quinta de Portelada est un endroit paradisiaque, calme et bien situé pour visité la région du Douro. L’appartement est très bien équipé, ultra propre et fonctionnel avec une superbe vue sur les vignes de la région. Nous n’avons malheureusement pas rencontrer João car il était en déplacement mais il répondait vraiment très rapidement toutes nos questions, Sonia qui était sur place pour nous accueillir a été d’une gentillesse exemplaire et tellement accommodante tout au long du séjour, les déjeuners sont vraiment bien garnis (jambon,fromage, confiture, jus, fruits frais, pains et croissant frais du jour) Nous vous recommandons vivement cet oasis sans problème.

Lurdes’ place stood out by far when compared with similar rentals.Everything was designed to be attractive to the visitors.Rooms were large enough and well decorated.The entire Rural Hotel was kept in top quality.There was enough space to wonder about the gardens within the premises.We enjoyed a vegan dinner prepared especially for us by Lurdes.Finally before we left we were kindly taken to our Camino De Santiago trail by EMIL,Lurdes husband.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Nuno’s place exceeded our expectations. It has a beautiful balcony with a view over the Douro river. The pool area is peaceful and breakfast provided was an added bonus. Nuno was very helpful and provided us with great recommendations for wine tasting and spots to visit. The apartment is spacious, clean and has a small kitchen which we were able to use to cook in the evenings.

We had a wonderful stay at this property for a long weekend away with friends. The house was even better than it appeared in the photos - incredibly spacious, good sized pool out the back, plenty of sun-loungers. There were great spaces for everyone to be together - but plenty of room for people to relax away from the group. The journey into Porto was very easy and affordable by Uber and no issues delivering food in. Check in was flexible and easy, with the host welcoming us and explaining how everything worked. We also didn’t realise until just before that breakfast was included - and everyday we woke to a huge selection of breads, fruit, cheese, meats, pastries and cereal! Really could not fault either the host or the home we stayed in. 10/10 in every aspect and I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Appartement spacieux, propre, il ne manque rien. Comme à la maison. Hôtes très accueillants, serviables, sympathiques. Dans petit village calme, non loin du Douro, et à 20 mn de Porto en voiture.

Wonderful house set away from the road. 5 minute walk to the river downhill, cafes restaurants etc. or 5 minute walk uphill to the Jardim do Morro and the best sunset views. The famous Port Wine houses are on the doorstep.The house is just perfectly sited. After a day walking up and down the alleyways, the house is a peaceful haven at night to return to. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, powerful shower. Nice balcony to enjoy the views and sunsets. Breakfast is included at the local Mercrearia do Bernardino, where Paula and her staff just can't do enough for you. Croissants, bread, cakes, yoghurt, cheese, ham, coffee, tea and more, sets you up for the many hills and steps of Besutiful Gaia and Porto. We will be back soon.

Absolutely loved our stay, wished we stayed longer!

We stayed with Rui and Olivia for two nights while in Porto. We had a blast in town and loved their place! Rui met us with the keys, arranged for discounted parking, a tour on the Douro, and spent some time going through a map with us, highligting some great places. The apt is brand new and very comfortable and very central. The place was stalked with fruits and delicious treats that Olivia made herself. We really appreciated the personal touch. Rui and Olivia have a couple of apartments in the building so they were around if we needed anything at all. We loved staying at their apt and would def recommend the apartments to anyone visiting Porto. They had some great restaurant and bar recommends as well!

Finding the place with a car is a little tricky but once you’re there you’ll get your reward. If you’re ever in Porto this is the place to stay. Wonderful views (especially from Luiz I room third floor) , in the heart of town, lots of restaurants places in walkable distance. And the breakfast basket!!! What a great idea. Every Airbnb should do it like them. Awesome place to stay. Highly recommend it.

Well located, spacious apartment. Close enough to walk into town, but a little outside the tourist frenzy. Marta was a gracious host, meeting us outside in the rain to help us park our rental car and show us around the apartment. She left a wonderful selection of food for our breakfasts, plus useful materials for us to plan our visit. We used four comfortable bedrooms and the common, comfortable living area. Would recommend this property to friends.

Ruhe am Wasser (am Ende der Welt) Die Unterkunft war erst nach telefonischer Rückfrage zu finden, obwohl es nur wenige Gebäude im Ort hat. Dieser liegt SEHR abgeschieden, wer länger bleiben will, sollte gut einkaufen. Es hatte lediglich zwei Cafes und ein (geschlossenes) Restaurant dort. Der nächste Laden ist etwa eine 1/2 Stunde Autofahrt entfernt. Eine Anreise mit dem Zug wäre jedoch ebenfalls möglich. Es liegt jedoch traumhaft schön direkt am Fluss und der Verkehr an Schiffen, Zügen und Autos lässt sich fast zählen. Besonders hat mir die Umgebung mit den vielen Blumen, der Zugang zum Wasser und die vielen Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten im Freien gefallen, sowohl am Schatten, als auch an der Sonne. Wer eine Bootstour machen will, braucht nicht wegzufahren, der Gastgeber macht ebenfalls solche. Ebenfalls kann man bei ihm Boote mieten, Tipps zum Fischen gab es dazu. Die Unterkunft ist ihren Preis wert, ist gut ausgestattet und Parkplätze am Schatten hat es auch. Besten Dank an alle

This accommodation is in a central position and has everything you need for a stay in Porto. It is 10 minutes from the train station that brings you from the airport and all the local attractions are within an easy reach. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding. The host also stored our cases after check-out on the final day. I would definitely stay again!

So happy we stumbled on this place! The hosts were so sweet and showed us the best spots. The location was amazing and it was perfect for 4 of us. I would love to be able to stay here again!

O apartamento é aconchegante e bem localizado próximo a restaurantes, mercadinhos e ao metro, com direito a vaga na garagem e todo mobiliado, tem tudo que se precisa desde cobertores, toalhas de banho a pratos, panelas e talheres. Tem ar condicionado para dias de calor, e para os dias frios com aquecimento até 30 graus, oferece muita privacidade, mal se vê algum vizinho. Isabela também é uma ótima anfitriã, muito solícita, carismática, sempre disposta a ajudar.

Dino and Inès's place is stunning - very stylish and comfortable. The apartment has everything you could wish for! I was greeted at the place by Dino who gave me a wealth of useful suggestions of what to do in the area. Would definitely stay here again if available when I return to Porto.

De passage pour un mariage au Portugal, nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour. Hôte très accueillant, propreté irréprochable, hôte très serviable. Nous avons passés un très bon séjour.

Passei dois dias magníficos com a minha família à Casa dos Vinhais. O anfitrião, o José, é muito simpático, atento e prestável e fomos optimamente recebidos por ele. A casa é realmente especial com os móveis e louças antigas da família com a sala muito agradável e os quartos muito queridos. Aqui sente-se e respira-se a história. A vista da casa para o rio Douro é linda e nós não pudemos aproveitar para banhar no rio mas, nos meses mais quentes, daria para aproveitar bem o exterior. Podemos pedir para fazer o jantar lá em casa e o bacalhau com natas e a alheira preparado pelo José e Graça foi divinal. Para além disso, o pequeno-almoco está incluído na estadia e é mesmo delicioso! Espero voltar de novo aqui a esta casa. Obrigada por tudo!

Quinta da Xandica, located just outside of Valença do Douro village, was a fantastic, and unique experience. It’s rare these days to find an Airbnb hosted by a “real” (boots on the ground) host who is not only there to share local knowledge and accommodates your needs, but literally who also welcomes you in to the ACTUAL family home. It reminded me of a traditional bed and breakfast, in all of the best ways. (Including a lovely breakfast in a dining room!!!) The Quinta was home to Matilde”s great grandfather, and is shared today with her grandmother and father (three generations). It’s a working farm, and an all around charming, beautiful place. Even during our unseasonably rainy visit, the grounds and area was stunning. Practically speaking, the bed was comfortable & the water hot. Dinner made by Matilde was a reasonably priced and delicious with estate wine. We also thoroughly interaction with other guests, the chipped dog, “Bill”, and access to the surrounding area. A treasure!

Uns hat der Aufenthalt bei Marta super gefallen. Sie war stets zur Stelle wenn man etwas gebraucht hat oder eine Frage hatte und war immer freundlich. Das Zimmer und die Küche sind wie beschrieben eigentlich echt schwer in Ordnung, allerdings sehen die Bilder ein bisschen anders aus als in der Realität. Man kann sich in der Küche auch ein bisschen Cornflakes oder Brot zum Frühstück machen, aber in der Innenstadt Portos lässt es sich natürlich ein wenig besser brunchen. Nichtsdestotrotz haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können auch nichts an dem Apartment kritisieren. Drei gelungene Tage für uns.

We absolutely loved our time at Cidália’s beautiful property. Cidália and her son Aderito were amazing hosts and wonderful people. The room was comfortable and had stunning views (including rainbows). The breakfast was fantastic and filling. When paired with the view from the balcony made for amazing memories. We had dinner at the Quinta one night and we are so glad we did, so good! Highly recommend and hope we can visit again one day.

A really lovely room just like the photos. The family were all very welcoming and helpful. They allowed us to check in early as the room was ready and looked after our bags on our last day .We had a fantastic meal one evening in their restaurant, not to be missed . The only down side was it’s a reasonable walk to the old town of Porto but if you don’t mind that it’s a lovely place to stay

Amazing 400 year old home, has always been in the family. The outside garden and pool are beautiful and peaceful. Small town near by with good quaint restaurants . About one hour from Douro Valley by a beautiful drive through back country roads. Highly recommend it
