Brand new warm and cosy studio unit. Best views in town, looks down on the train station and Bealey river and looks up to Mt Rolleston, even from the bath. There is a small kitchenette which has a fridge, kettle, toaster, electric fry pan and large microwave, There is a BBQ for when weather is warmer. Second on the right up Brake Hill.
“This is probably the most modern option for staying in Arthurs Pass. It's modern, comfortable, has everything you need and is close to town and amazing walks. The only minor issues were the trains can be noisy at night which I understand is unpredictable/unscheduled, and a fairly minor roll together bed, but nothing problematic for sleep. I definitely recommend for a lovely remote-ish getaway and day walks base.”
Nestled in the alpine village of Arthur’s Pass, and in the heart of Arthur’s Pass National Park, The Tussocks offers a great mid-way stopover when travelling from coast to coast, or a fantastic base for doing the many tracks and trails in the surrounding area. The house is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families, hikers/trampers and larger groups of up to eight people.
“What a lovely and spacious NZ cottage! The location provides very convenient access to SH 73 to access either the east or west coast, but it is also a quiet setting with stunning views of the surrounding mountain peak. Some may say the outside needs some sprucing up -- agreed but certainly not anything to turn you away. The inside is just so charming with homey decor. Super comfortable beds with excellent linens, modern bathroom, fully-furnished kitchen, space heaters in every room. Of utmost importance to us, Michael and Marion's place met our high standards of cleanliness. Genuine NZ hospitality.”

“What a wonderful hosts! Thanks Wendy and Fletch, the small touches made our amazing stay that next level UP, amazing! Warm freshly made bread, delicious ‘Fat Cat’ coffee, yummy homemade muesli... wow! We were spoilt... and then there is the stunning location, beautiful grounds, gorgeous private lake, a wee fire ready to spark up and roast marshmallows in the evening.... the outdoor bath was super relaxing after a day on the most amazing bike trails right on the doorstep! We will definitely be back... might try the glam ping tent next time... looks amazing!”
