Etsu should write the textbook on hosting people. Staying at matcha terrace was truly a special experience. The home is even more beautiful than the pictures. One day I was not feeling well, Etsu did everything she could to make sure I felt better. I am really happy I was at matcha terrace at that time. It is a beautiful Japanese home. It’s very quiet, and you get a lot of privacy and room for yourself. She cooks an AMAZING breakfast every morning. It’s a beautiful way to start your day. She drove me to and from the station. On my last day she stopped to show me the Hydrangeas at a local shrine. As a solo traveler she offered to take pictures of me, without me asking. No detail is too small for Etsu. She has local insights and gives very good recommendations. I plan on coming back to matcha terrace the next time I am in Japan. Seriously a special place and an incredible host. Would highly recommend! Plus a cute dog 😊

We had great pleasure to stay at Risa’s house. Together with her dogs she provided us with highest quality of care. House is located out of noisy part of a city it is a great hub to relax and regenerate after long days outside. Would highly recommend to anyone needing safespace while in Tokyo.

Kumiko is a wonderful host who will help you with anything you need, whether providing snacks, taking you to and from the station, or helping with suitcases. The place is very clean and the location is a great location that you can easily travel anywhere to. Her two pets make the stay a 12/10 as well

Yuki,Norio and family made me feel at home with their hospitality. There isn’t any communication barrier as they speak excellent English. They will check on you everyday to see if you are comfortable and if there are anything else you need. They are always helpful to give guides and suggestion as to where to travel from the nearby station. This place is accessible to station under 10 mins walk. No worries about lack of eateries ,supermarkets and combini. The shared bathroom is newly renovated and room is bright, clean and airy. I would go back again hands down. You really have to experience to believe and I did. It was a wholesome experience staying with their family as part of my Japan trip. Have fun!
