Holiday houses in Atkinson

They did a great job accommodating a relatively last-minute reservation. The house is just over a hill from the construction site for the new airport, so even though it's close you don't have any noise or ugly views. There are some restaurants/bars 10-15 minutes to the West in/near Calibishie. The best beach on the island (Batibou) is also close. However, other major sites are 45+ minutes away. It's a very quiet corner of Dominica.

Arnaud et Marica sont des personnes particulièrement accueillantes et j’ai adoré mon passage dans leur appartement. La localisation est particulièrement paisible au bord d’une belle rivière et l’appartement est parfaitement équipé. C’est le lieu parfait pour découvrir l’Est de la Dominique. What a gem. Top air bnb stay for me. Stunning beauty, surrounded by nature with sounds images cannot depict. The house itself, is so creatively and solidly made. Close to lots of local attractions (falls/hikes/hots springs) and the capital Roseau is a short drive down the hill. I stayed in 4 different locations in Dominica and this was my favorite. A perfect place to meditate and connect with the earth. There seemed to be a magic in the air here as I was in sync with nature and everything seemed to just fall into place. Hard to explain- but if you are going to Dominica and even considering staying her. Do yourself the favor and stay here. Even though I did not get a chance to meet the hosts (I was only there 2 nights), they were communicative and directions/instructions were easy to follow. When I return to Dominica, I will return to this heavenly retreat!

OMG…where to start? Isha was one of the best host I’ve encountered. With all my travels there has been only one other person I would say that about. As soon as I walked into the place I felt at home! It was so beautiful. So nicely decorated. Usually I feel the need to clean or at least spray lysol, but not there. The whole place was spotless. And matched the pictures perfectly! It was so quiet and peaceful there. The mattress was so comfortable. I used the local bus to get there and it was very easy to find. The checkin instructions were the best I’ve ever gotten, so easy to get in. There is a very nice restaurant and market, within 1-2 minutes walk. I didn’t walk to the beach because I did a day tour, but I understand there is a nice one within a short walk. If I find I need a stay in Calibishie, this is where I will be staying.

Susanne's cottage was even more charming than the pictures in the listing. We were especially impressed with the simplicity and airiness of the place. Great ventilation and the ability to open the cottage up to nature or close it off as needed. Partial outdoor kitchen and wrap around porch with sea views was lovley. Wendy and Susanne were very responsive and hospitable hosts. This cottage is also very conveniently located to all things Calibishie and beyond.

I’ve stayed here multiple times, and every visit has been exceptional. The place is always immaculate, and the host consistently maintains the highest standards. Communication is prompt and reliable. I highly recommend this spot, especially for anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable stay. It’s the perfect location for a quick trip spotless, cozy, and well kept.

Au départ, le chemin d’accès n’est pas très facile et s’enfonce dans la foret. Il faut trente minutes en voiture depuis Roseau. Mais vous voici dans un très bel environnement sauvage. Le jardin de David est magnifique. Il y a plein de colibris et d’oiseaux. Nous avions un grand plaisir à y revenir chaque soir pendant notre semaine de séjour. La literie est confortable et même sans climatisation il y faisait frais. David nous a régalé avec une succulente cuisine maison. Les repas étaient copieux et goûteux, avec plein de produits frais du jardin et de tisanes maison. Le petit déjeuner aussi était top. David nous a donné plein de bons conseils pour nos sorties. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié discuter avec lui chaque jour. Il est très sympathique et disponible. Le logement est bien situé, à côté de plusieurs sites touristiques du parc national. Assurément, ce logement a contribué à la réussite de notre séjour à la Dominique. Nous le recommandons les yeux fermés. Merci pour tout 🙏

Amazing place!! We had the entire property to ourselves on this trip. You can walk right down to the beach (which we had to ourselves nearly the entire time) in about 5 minutes and see crabs along the way. Beds were comfy (yes, there IS a/c and fans in the bedrooms, but the living area is open air), the linens were soft, and the view was spectacular. The pool was refreshing, you could see stars on clear nights, and the grounds were gorgeous. Would definitely come again!
