Amazing place to stay. Beautiful hot tub. Super comfy big bed. Private and peaceful.

Birgir's cabin is very snug & warm -- festive with bright red lights -- everything in its nook -- and an amazing perch to see across the valley & short drive to the fjord. Our trip was at the end of December and most days/nights were snowy & with some rain -- very beautiful, but definitely take heed of Birgir's cautions about driving in such weather (which held true, even as we had rented a 4-wheel drive Jeep!) -- it is a steep hill up to the cabin, and we did get stuck on our 2nd to last day -- but fortunately the neighbors in the house down the way were incredibly helpful & we got the car out! We enjoyed exploring Akranes & Borganes. We also did see the northern lights on the one clear night -- beautiful to see the green shimmering curtain of light above the steppes/mountains across the valley. Birgir was both proactive and very responsive.

We had a great week staying at Þórður’s place. It was very spacious and exactly like in the photos. The hot tub was also a really nice touch after long days of hiking. Highly recommend!

Logement parfait! Au calme, proche de la route 1. Cosy et bien équipé. Hot tube et sauna pour se détendre. Emplacement propice aux aurores boréales. Brynja est très à l’écoute et réactive. Merci encore pour ce moment de bonheur.

This was a beautiful cottage and was very clean and tidy. Wonderful location with many walking trails to explore within the Húsafell area, and some neat hikes in the surrounding areas that were a short drive away. The host was very responsive with the few questions we had and provided detailed instructions on how to get to the cottage. Would 100% recommend!

Questo chalet è meraviglioso in tutti i sensi, una delle soluzioni più belle degli ultimi 10 con Airbnb! La casa è bella, semplice ma molto curata, con tutto quello che serve per cucinare e pranzare. I letti sono comodi e caldi. La vasca idromassaggio all’esterno è fantastica: quando siamo arrivati alle 10 pm era perfettamente calda (38*C). Grazie davvero Jon per voler condividere questo gioiello!

This was a great place to stay as a base camp for exploring western Iceland. Very clean and welcoming. The view is great, the hot tub is perfect after a long day walking around, and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen and grill had everything we needed in order to cook meals. Jon and Kristin were great and made us feel right at home. They even had chocolate bars for us when we got to the house! A couple minor things to know if you're considering this house. 1. There are 3 bedrooms, but the third bedroom has a sofa bed, not a regular bed. This room is also the TV room, so if you were planning on using the TV a lot, you would need to put the bed back in to a sofa and vice versa each day. This wasn't a big deal for us since we weren't planning to use the TV. 2. One of the reasons I really liked this house is that it had a fireplace. This is true, but it's meant for burning DuraFlame logs, not actual firewood. I didn't realize that "real" fires aren't really a thing in Iceland.

This is an amazing cabin for a nice and peaceful break. The view and surroundings are incredible! We went at the end of October and it got to -4C some nights, but the cabin is nice and cosy and warm - and the hot tub perfect for whatever time of the day you want to use it. Because there's no light pollution, the clear sky's were awesome, sat there looking for shooting stars! On our last night we experienced some spectacular Northern Lights - incredible!! The nearest town - Borgarnes - is a 25 minute drive away and has an awesome bakery. Also supermarkets and a local swimming pool. There is a very steep drive up to the cabin which we couldn't drive up in our Cat B hired car, so parked at the bottom and walked up (helped us work off the cakes we had from the bakery though!). Would highly recommend for a peaceful stay within pure countryside.

Het huis ligt op een hoogte met prachtig uitzicht en wordt omgeven door land met relatief veel vogels. Veel plekken op Snaefellsnes zijn goed te bereiken. De laatste kilometers naar het huis zijn onverhard, maar een 4x4 is niet nodig. Er is een goed bed dat maar net in de slaapkamer past, de uitrusting is ruim voldoende. De wifi-gegevens op de site van Airbnb waren niet juist, maar stonden in het gastenschrift, dus dat was snel opgelost.

We enjoyed our brief stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin is beautiful, well stocked with lots of extras like olive oil, cooking spices and condiments. The large deck was perfect for star gazing and the hot tub was an excellent place to relax at the end of a long day hiking. We loved it.

Sif & Robert are lovely thoughtful hosts. And their cabin is such a cozy perfect little escape in the beautiful Icelandic nature. Highly recommend if you're looking for peaceful break surrounded by epic nature with kind hosts.

Wir haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohl hier gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist super schön & mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Die Umgebung & der Blick der Unterkunft war toll. Zusätzlich sollte die Kommunikation mit Luke erwähnt werden. Er antwortete immer zuverlässig, schnell und freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder 😊

Hermosa cabaña, muy cálida y cuidada. Tienes todo lo necesario para pasar unos días hermosos y tranquilos. Hay unos juegos para niños bajando un poco el jardín, vista increíble del mar y la montaña, muy cerca de Borgarness y a la vez en el medio del campo. Katrin dio información muy específica para llegar, que nos ayudó para llegar al lugar. Todo perfecto la verdad. Nos hubiera encantado quedarnos más días.

Vignir has a wonderful cozy cabin. It is spacious has a very well equipped kitchen, a nice living room and the bed were very good. The location is also very nice, just some 10-15 minutes outside Borgarnes where you can get groceries and it’s an ideal location to explore west Iceland. It’s exactly as you can see on the pictures and description. Vignir is an excellent host. Communication went very smooth and he gave very clear instructions how to get to the cabin. Inside he prepared a booklet with simple instructions how things work in the cabin and lots of tips what to do and what to see in west Iceland. I can highly recommend!

We loved Rebecca’s place - really warm and welcoming as soon as you step inside and the views are amazing. It was snowing when we arrived and it snowed heavily overnight, so we were glad of our wee 4x4 with its snow tyres, when we eventually ventured out for food and provisions. The road to the cottage is very challenging in the snow and ice. The cottage itself is well equipped and very comfortable - we both slept really well. All in all, we highly recommend Rebecca’s place - we spent a lot more time there than we do in most airbnbs due to the weather - it’s a lovely place to relax.

Overall we had a wonderful stay here. The views are gorgeous and we were lucky enough to see northern lights! Only negative was trying to find the cabin was difficult BUT Borj was super responsive and friendly. We only stayed one night but would stay again.

Wir waren das dritte Mal in Island und wieder eine tolle und ruhige Unterkunft. Alles war sauber und sehr gute Betten. Es gab sogar süßes für uns zum Empfang. Es gibt nichts negatives zu berichten. Die Unterkunft ist ein wenig weg vom Schuss aber das wollten wir auch. Würde dieses Haus wieder buchen 👍🏼

Das nette Holzhaus liegt idyllisch in einem kleinen Wäldchen in perfekter Lage um viele schöne Plätze zu besuchen. Wir waren drei Frauen und für 5 Nächte dort und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Küche ist gut eingerichtet und wir haben oft gekocht. In Bourganes ist ein Supermarkt, ein tolles Café und ein Schwimmbad mit Hotpot. Es war alles sehr sauber. Danke für den Platz.
