Cosy log fire and beach walks at The Old Smithy

Retreat to The Old Smithy and find peace and tranquility here. Located along the beautiful Northumberland coastline, there is much to see and do for any age. The secluded sandy beach is a 5 minute walk, where you can stroll with the dog, look for sea-life among the rocks, swim in the sea (if feeling brave). If you like walking the northumberland coastal path is on the doorstep, visit the many historic castles and villages nearby, or Keen golfers can play on one of the oldest courses in England.

Swinburne Castle

Swinburne Castle is perfectly situated within its own beautiful parkland and gardens. Traditionally decorated, parts of the house have tremendous history dating back to the 12th century. The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. A delicious continental breakfast will be provided in your rooms. There is ample parking and a tennis court you are welcome to use. lovely footpaths from the house for keen walkers.

Our Pod overlooks the hilltop Farm Steading of Overthwarts, giving panoramic views of the countryside. With your own private gated entrance, you can come and go as you please or enjoy the views from the comfort of the wood fired Kirami hot tub.

Wildhope View, Bilton, nr Alnmouth

Wildhope View: A detached, characterful, stone cottage - especially for two. Located in the historic hamlet of Bilton, a stone’s throw away from the vibrant village of Alnmouth. A wonderful spot from which to explore the rugged Northumbrian coastline, idyllic countryside and magnificent, enchanted castles. Wildhope View is a cosy, romantic retreat with spectacular views of the rolling hills of the Aln valley and the, “18 arches” viaduct built in 1849 by Robert Stephenson.

The Byre, Bog Mill Cottages, edge of Alnwick

The Byre at Bog Mill, Alnwick is situated down a quarter mile private track and overlooks the River Aln, on the outskirts of Alnwick and three miles from coast. A spacious self contained cottage for two with double bedroom. Open plan living area with feature arched windows overlooking the garden. Safe parking is adjacent to the cottage and secure storage for bicycles is available. EV charger available. WiFi is free of charge within the cottage. No smoking. No pets.
