A peaceful and well-designed retreat in the heart of the Klein Karoo. The tented camp is modern, clean, and comfortable, with sweeping views and a strong sense of space and stillness. 🌄⛺ We loved the self-drive safaris, enjoying quiet and unrushed explorations across a vast reserve. Along our journey, we spotted various wildlife, including Kudu, Giraffe, Gemsbok, and Black Wildebeest, as well as an abundance of birdlife. 🚙🦓🦒 The setting is open and natural, ideal for unwinding and reconnecting with the outdoors. It’s pet-friendly — our dogs enjoyed every moment 🐾 — though the camp isn’t enclosed, so do plan ahead. The hosts were welcoming and respectful of privacy, with everything thoughtfully prepared. A great choice for families or small groups seeking a calm, nature-focused escape with just the right balance of comfort and wilderness.

This was an beautiful stay, the host Philna was amazing, you couldn’t ask for a better host. Her cottage was cozy with beautiful surroundings of the vineyard and mountains in the back, I would definitely recommend a stay here.

The Pines is a wonderful venue for a breakaway with a group of friends or family. The old farm-style homestead is in impeccable condition, with the trappings you expect from a much more modern house. Everything was spotless, from the bedroom linens and towels, to the well equipped kitchen, and the outside area. The weather was fantastic, so most time was spent in and around the pool, on the tennis court, and in the cool quiet of the house. Do: 1. spend an early morning with fresh coffee on the stoep, waiting for the sun to start painting the glorious mountains right in front of you; 2. make communal meals and eat under the ancient trees in the afternoon and at the huge dining room table in the evenings, where our stories mingled with those that had come before us; 3. bring your - well behaved - furry friends, they will get as much from the large expanse of lawn and, since the property is fully fenced, the can explore as much as they want to; and 4. braai next to the pool. Enjoy!

This is one of the loveliest places I have stayed at. I felt right at home, as if I belonged. So beautiful, peaceful, cozy and clean. The mountains are spectacular, the river bubbles along, the milky way is bright above, baboons preening themselves, jackal calls, warm flames of the night's fire and and the most comfortable bed ever when done exhaling all the city stresses away. The kitchen is well equiped and the little touches are just so well thought out, right down to the grammaphone and the special song waiting just for you.

As we arrived we felt the peacefulness that the home and surroundings brought. Christine was an amazing host, extremely informative and sent us all the activities in the area. As you arrive you are welcomed by complimentary wine and bread, the views are breathtaking and the accommodation itself was extremely clean and neat! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

What an AMAZING place, I was blown away right from the minute we stepped in. It exceeded our expectations. We booked the Gaia dome- the mountains views, watched sunrise in the mornings , we did a hike to one of the pools which was absolutely breathtaking. Prosperity was very helpful answered immediately when we needed help. I thought it’s so thoughtful that the hosts even provide guest with basic cooking items like your olive oil - complementary treats such a marshmallows , Rusks & free fire wood I could write an essay that’s how GOOD this place was , worth every single cent and we will definitely be coming back. ❤️🙂⛰️
