My stay was lovely. I wish I didn't have to leave. It's spacious, it's cosy, it's clean and it's beautiful. It honestly does feel like a way away from home. And Marie? An absolute sweetheart. I will definitely be returning.

Peter was a great host. Greeted me, responded to all my messages but gave me a lot of privacy. When I didn’t need him, I never saw him. Location is about 15-20 minutes walking to shops which might be a little too far but uber is inexpensive. Greenside is centrally located if you’re doing things in Joburg north. The place was fairly basic but very clean and well-maintained. Had no issues with electricity, pests or sanitation. Would stay here again.

Kim is a lovely and amazing host and the space is great. It gets a little cold in the winter, but between the sunshine on the patio and the space heater it’s manageable. This place is especially great for people with pets and longterm stays. Kim is an animal lover and is more than happy to make a new furry friend. If you don’t like animals than maybe consider staying somewhere else, but otherwise you can’t find a nicer and more welcoming host.

Renate’s place was pristine, clean, minimalist, warm and all the nice things! We checked in a day before my birthday and she even got us a cake. She goes over and beyond for her guests and is a friendly and warm presence. Did I already mention how perfectly clean the room was! You have to go there for yourself to truly experience this. Thanks Renate!

Loved our stay at Ncedi’s, it felt very homey.. The area was quiet and the cottage was clean and well kept. There were a lot of thoughtful touches such as a gas heater, folding table to work whilst in bed, make-up remover towels and an umbrella (which came in super handy!). The cottage was a little smaller than we anticipated but all in all very cute.

This cottage is an absolutely lovely place to stay. Cosy, well furnished, with a private garden to sit and enjoy some quiet time among the beautiful tree ferns. We only stayed a night on our way transiting through Joburg but found the commute of abt 30 mins to OR Tambo perfectly manageable. very safe within a boom gated community and close to the shops at Four Ways amd Design Quarter. Quality bed linen, a jacuzzi style bath, and lovely welcoming selection of complimentary snacks were much appreciated. Deirdre and her husband welcomed us and made us and showed us around, making us feel instantly at home. we'll definitely be back! Thank you

Staying at Mandy's was absolutely fantastic! As a solo female traveler I felt very safe, the house is gated and the location was central to everything I needed. 4th street is also just a quick walk away and has a bunch of cute stores and restaurants. Mandy was super responsive and made sure I had heating in the apartment (during winter). Would definitely recommend and would love to come back if I am in the area again!

What fantastic, spacious and luxurious accommodation. The kitchen has everything you need to feel at home and prepare your own food. Richard and his family are welcoming and friendly, but you have complete privacy at the same time. I look forward to staying again.

We had a very comfortable stay. Janine’s place offered everything we needed and was clean. The access to DSTV was a plus. Despite cold weather we were cosy inside. I appreciated their willingness to accommodate us and their friendliness whilst also allowing us our privacy. The location is also central. We’d happily return.

The place is elegant and comfortable. The owner is easy to communicate with. I highly recommend it.

Ivy was quick to respond to us and Hazel very friendly and informative when she let us in. The accommodation was beautiful and tastefully appointed, as well as being functional and the poolside setting was a peaceful oasis.

I've had a great stay at Frances's house. The location is the best in Johannesburg, it's very close to Zoo Lake (which is very beautiful for walkings and watching birds), Rosebank Mall (shopping center and restaurants, a lot of coffeeshops). Besides, this area is quiet and safe for tourists. And it was such a pleasure to meet Frances. If you're interested in South African culture, art, life in Johannesburg - this is the best place for you to stay with Frances. Thank you for the accommodation and all the help from you! Johannesburg is one of me favorite cities now.

Sibylle is such a sweetheart. We absolutely loved staying at her place. The space was clean, easy to relax and work if one needs to. If I am ever in the area I would not hesitate coming back. We appreciated the fresh fruits, yoghurt and muesli. Her recommendations and books will give anyone a great orientation of what to do in Johannesburg. Sally is a friendly lady. Her place is suitable and comfortable enough for me as it has mini kitchen with all necessary stuff. She has a nice garden with blooming flowers and chirping birds calling it home every morning. Walking distance to grocery and fast food, nice neighborhood.

Nicci’s place was home away from home with attention to detail to the smallest things. With the temperatures dropping due to season’s change a heater was available to warm up the room. Working space was handy too. Tranquil if you want peaceful surroundings. Fresh milk & tusks were a nice treat, including the tea and coffee station

Sally is the warmest and most welcoming host. Any time I needed something, she was easy to reach and quick to respond. I’ve felt so at home and cared for. And Sally makes the most delicious rusks. The unit is very spacious but cosy and homey. The area is super quiet and safe. I’ve absolutely loved my stay at Sally’s!

Sarah is a fantastic Airbnb host and I now consider her a friend. I cannot recommend her place enough. Sarah made my first solo visit to South Africa an absolute joy. She introduced me to Melville, gave great tour recommendations for the surrounding area, and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, safe, and happy during my stay. I stayed here for work at WITS, but would love to come back again for a vacation.
