Casa da Fonte is at Lugar da Praia, a small village situated in a valley between the mountain and the beaches, on the south coast of São Miguel. It is in the center of the Island, close to the highway, ideal as a starting point for long drive or walking tours. There are several sandy beaches around, a waterfall and a natural pool within a 5-minute walk, and a walking trail with a stunning scenery. Quiet place, in the middle of nature, without noise from cars. Totally relaxing and invigorating!

Welcome to Castanheiro. Our property is a recently refurbished house built around a century old chestnut tree. A spacious terrace offers a panoramic view of the Santa Cruz Bay. It is conveniently located in Lagoa and within a 3 min walking distance to the ocean . A stroll to natural swimming pools will take you 10 min. The house was lovingly restored to maintain its original stone features. A perfect place to enjoy with family and friends as it comfortably accomodates up to 6 people.

A soundtrack—the water streaming down from two sides of the property—will follow you into your sleep. Everything is aimed at minimizing distraction from the intrinsic beauty of nature, you'll be in your own bubble, yet a small village market and a bar are conveniently located less than 100mt. (300ft) away.

We live in Vila Franca do Campo for more than 30 years and we think this is the perfect town in the island to spend some relaxing holidays. Our Retreat is a rural nineteenth-century house, restored with the desire to conserve the time of construction characteristics. Not only did we keep the main structure of the house, but also the fire oven and the respective chimney, the mill of wine production and the basalt stone floor . And, to finalize we added a suspended living room - literally a glass cube.
