Experience the Africa hidden in Colombia
We will take a cultural walk around the Palenqe of Benkos, off the beaten path, where you will be immersed in the Africa hidden in Colombia. We named it Black Legacy Experience, because it is definitely an essential place for our black history in Colombia. This town hosts a sort of spin off of Cartagena's history in timeline. We are new in Airbnb, but you can check out a bit of our trajectory on IG @blacklegacyexperiences We’ll pick you up, and here begins our journey. We’ll be on the road for around 60 minutes. There, we meet our friend, the native guide and we start our walk. We visit meaningful spots such as the monuments of Benkos Biohó (the town founder) and Kid Pambelé (World Boxing Champion) and the Traditional medicine yard, among others. After that, we conclude with a glorious traditional lunch. We also learn some words in their language as we tell you the story, so you'll be able to greet natives and you'll receive, not only their greeting back, but also their smiles. Ride to a life-changing cenotes tour
This magical experience starts in our meeting spot in our town Chemuyil, where we will get ready for our adventure. My town is located: -20-25 mins approx. from Tulum (downtown) -35-40 mins approx. from Playa del Carmen (downtown) -2 hrs. approx. from Cancun (downtown) If you don’t have a car, or don’t know how to get to this place, please feel free to contact me to get more recommendations on transportation you can use. This is a LOCAL EXPERIENCE. You will get to know, not only these cenotes that have seen us grow up, but places with a lot of meaning to us. We will ride on our bicycles through our hometown making our way to three different cenotes around our community. Physical wear with the bicycles is minimum. We spend most of the time in the water. Riding the bicycles will be, 20-25 mins(total). Distance from cenote to cenote is 5-10 mins. This experience is minimun for 3 people Let's meet at Exito Sandiego supermarket . We will go then to the public market by bus where I am sure you will be in love with this amazing community . I will introduce you to my wonderful friends in the marketplace who have become more of an extension of my family. This experience changed my life everyday by seeing all the hard work of people to support their families. My hope is that stories your will hear, could change your life too. We will also learn about the local rhythm ( champeta) and dance so please don't be shy and let's have fun. We will eat some delicacies from the world renowned Cecilia's Restaurant. This restaurant was visited by Anthony Bourdain in 2008. We will try the local soda, beer and sample delicious fruits. You will be able to inmerse in our daily life, to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Bazurto public market and the most important you will have an adventure of how to discover to be a local in Cartagena. I am happy my job is my hobbie, It would be amazing if you can enjoy this hobbie with me. Other things to note The public market is a noisy place, where the smell can be strong sometimes, so if that its not something important for you, then join this experience. Produciendo Café en el Bosque Nuboso de Monteverde
This is not a commercial coffee tour, it is an educational experience to create awareness in the only organic specialty coffee plantation in the Monteverde area, located in the Ecological Sanctuary, a 48 hectares family project focused on conservation, sustainability, agroecology, education and culture. In a guided workshop by an expert where you will learn from the basics of ancestral agriculture, how we create our own organic fertilizers, then you will know the coffee gardens planted in the forest that surrounds the Ecological Sanctuary, the drying area, and the process that involves the specialty coffee (history, plantations, growth, development, varieties and the science of flavor to prepare a good coffee). After leaving the forest, we will enjoy a guided coffee tasting, sharpening the senses to recognize defects, attributes, aromas and flavors in different qualities of coffee. Finally, we will create an interactive demonstration of the science of flavor and all the variables that an alchemist applies in the preparation of a coffee using different infusion methods. This workshop is an experience that will expand your knowledge of the world of coffee and help you become a home barista and an informed consumer. Enjoy an environmental tour in Akumal
We will leave from the meeting point in Akumal Natura Glamping. From there we will go by vehicle and in a 20-minute journey to visit a wildlife refuge in the jungle of Akumal, there you will make some interactions and learn about the management plans , rehabilitation, reproduction, reintegration that takes place there with more than 100 wild animals that are sheltered there. You will also learn about the harmless and stingless bee of the Mayans and you will also learn about pollination and the life and habits of this insect recently declared the most important living thing on the planet. After We will do a themed path and go to swim in the crystal clear waters of an illuminated and underground cenote. I will also show you the toxic tree, the doctor tree, the gum tree and other important trees of our flora, three hours later we will begin the return. Other things to note It is an educational experience and fun at the same time, although we will be in the jungle, you can wear sandals or sports shoes, yes, do not forget your swimsuit. Cave Tubing and Zipline Adventure
(PLEASE: ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE IN GOOD/EXCELLENT SHAPE FOR THIS EXCURSION AND NOT AFRAID OF HEIGHTS OR BEING DEEP WATERS) Max weight 230. In this Adventure you will visit the Tanama river in the Arecibo area. It starts with a hike down a muddy, slippery and rocky trail to the river(1.5 miles of hard hiking). We will arrive to the top of a cave and do a 250 ft long zipline that will take your breath away with the view. Here is where most participants rest a while for the next activity. When we are all set we will hike upstream to a huge cave and then jumped into the refreshing water. We will enter the caves and we will see some amazing water curtains and springs. At the exit of the second cave we do a small stop and you will have the option of submerging into the water to visit a secret cave. Tour isn’t over yet. Now the guides will show you the best tricks to do the white water tubing. While you are in the white water tubing you will pass some rapids and also some amazing canons all the way until you get to the third and last cave. At the exit of this cave you will do a small climb and the hike back to the cars. Duration 4-6 hours. Other things to note Don't let the beautiful sights fool you. This adventure is for real adventure and nature lover only. Please do NOT daydream. If you are not sure that you don't qualify you probably don't.

The whole trip will take around 4.5 hours and it could be modified based on weather conditions, but shine or rain we assure you it will be the highlight in your visit to the island. Hiking Life in Cuba
Our tour starts just in the heart of the city, we ́ll visit some historical – religious – cultural – and social, important and interesting places, well preserved through out years and centuries. We ́ll get into the city till its limits, we ́ll walk by the streets and visit some old slave markets. Later, we ́ll get into the Sugar Mills Valley to visit and see farms and sugar mill ruins, a living witness of the independence war against the spanish colonialism, you ́ll have the chance to take excellents photos of country landscapes, we ́ll make our own route and will talk about those used by the African slaves to run away from the sugar cane plantations. The first one is about 4.2km(2.6 miles) to get into the forest, where we ́ll take a rest for snacking. The 2nd part is about 2.1km(1.3 miles), having some stops to talk with the farmers, visit their houses and also to know their way of living at the mountains. We will see our national bird - Tocororo, besides another birds, reptiles, trees and flowers. Just at the end of the tour and for relaxing, we ́ll swin in a waterfall natural pools and we will come back in a very fabulous american car, of the fifties. But before that, we will first visit the town of Valladolid, and then, we will go to see an authentic Mayan cenote, a beauty of nature full of mysticism. After a refreshing swim in the cenote, I'll take you to enjoy a delicious Mexican food buffet with vegetarian options. Your first stop will be the Magic Town of Valladolid, a quick panoramic visit to Valladolid. A Magical Town where we will observe its architecture after the arrival of the Spanish Conquerors. We will continue the tour by going to a sacred Mayan cenote where we can cool off from the sun, and after the dip, we will have lunch taking advantage of a delicious Mexican food buffet. And the last stop will be in Chichen Itza, we will walk through the archaeological zone, the Temple of the Warriors, the Ball Court, the legendary Pyramid of Kukulcán and more. You will experience up close the mysteries of acoustics in its architecture, which to date are not fully understood. Cooking as a Colombian
At the beginning of the class, we start by describing all the ingredients we will be using while sharing the history of the dish, why it is so popular, and how it is typically presented in our region, Cartagena. As part of our experience, we will teach you how to prepare an appetizer and a main course from start to finish, using your own hands. You will peel, cut, and season all the ingredients in accordance with the Cartagena tradition. Each person will have the opportunity to boil, fry, or grill their food, providing you with a unique culinary experience as you taste dishes that you may not have had the chance to prepare before. The class will be conducted in both English and Spanish, accompanied by background music that harmonizes and integrates what you are learning with the cultural and historical context of the dish. At the end of our class, you will enjoy a full meal that will not only be delicious but will also become an unforgettable memory of your trip to Colombia. Once the experience with the chef is complete, you can choose your preferred beverage in one of our climate-controlled areas, where you will enjoy your delicious meals.

Free Videos, Guided Beginner Tour! Don't know how to swim? That's ok, I specialize in taking beginners out! We will meet for check in at Escambron Beach Park (type into maps or Uber). Once you enter Escambron Beach park's main entrance, you will pass the guard shack(if you are driving you will need to pay for Parking) and continue straight down the road to the very end of the parking lot to the left. Once you arrive, you will see a a red Kiosk and snorkeling equipment. Please check in there 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time. Once checked in, I will go over a safety briefing and information on the sea life we will encounter. The tour will begin in the shallows where we will be trying on equipment and once comfortable we will begin snorkeling around the famous Escambron Marine park. Make sure you keep an eye out for all of the different sea life at our dive site. Because we are viewing sea life in the ocean not an aquarium, we cannot guarantee you will see sea turtles, however, majority of the time we do. Other things to note This tour was designed for any level of diver, from non swimmers to olympic gold medalists. Make sure you wear your swimwear, bring water, sunscreen and a towel. I do have a place to store your bags while on the tour.
