“Sandrine‘s flat was the perfect place to relax, recover and enjoy Ponta do sol. We felt like home in the stylish and clean flat, made with lots of love. There was everything around to cook a good meal, do a laundry or relax outside for a bit. We would come back anytime & highly recommend this place.”

In the island of Santo Antao, the most beautiful of the Cape Verde islands, far from the big international resorts and tourist developments, a charming house for rent in a fishing village of 350 inhabitants, entirely renovated in the local style.
“Cruzinha is a small very remote place without Wi-Fi connection. The place itself does not offer much, you get the bare essentials in the small mini markets and in the evening you can go for a drink in one of the small bars. For example, Ricardo has a nice open air bar at the entrance. The accommodation is therefore rather something for individualists and peace seekers. On the spot you can snorkel and jump with the local children from rocks into the sea. 15 minutes. walk away is a very nice black sand beach, where the sea is supposedly a bit treacherous. We are only as far into the waves as we could stand. The accommodation itself is very nice. We also enjoyed every evening from Lucinda delicious cook (fish, 7 Euro per person per meal). Cooking yourself is rather less recommended because of the limited shopping. We took a trip with a fishing boat to Ponta do Sol (boat altogether 40 euros round trip) and from there to Fontainhas up (about 45 minutes). But you can also start from Ponta do Sol with a taxi. My husband then went back to Cruzinha alone from Fontainhas. The trail is spectacular and easy to find, but not to be underestimated, as it mostly goes up and down. Above all, you should avoid the blazing sun and of course take enough water with you. You do not need a guide for the hike. The equipment of the house was very good, great mattresses, tea maker only the toaster was missing, but there was a small stove. Also interesting were the talks with Pasquale (French!), Who took very good care of us. Our children (10 and 12 years) found 4 nights adequate, especially because they lacked the Wi-Fi .... We wrote many postcards for this ... The villagers were very polite and reserved. We always felt safe. And as in probably all villages on Cabo Verde there is also a specific danger of being awakened in the morning by the cock in Cruzinha. If you still have an old children diving mask or a snorkel at home, the children of the place are very happy about it.”
