Family-friendly holiday rentals in Chafé

A truly memorable stay. The landscape was breathtaking — wildflowers, birdsong, horses, and morning mist over the valley created a dreamlike atmosphere. The spa facilities and infinity pool, set against stunning views, were especially restorative. The cabin is compact but surrounded by natural beauty. We loved waking to the sounds of birds and nearby waterfall — simply idyllic. There was occasional noise from grounds maintenance, but it didn’t detract too much from the overall impression. The host was communicative and flexible with our arrival time. Thoughtful touches like the welcome wine and chocolate cake made us feel right at home. Everything was smooth and easy, and we found some fantastic local restaurants. The surrounding area is full of charm, with quiet walks, friendly people, and views we’ll never forget. We spent our days exploring and simply soaking it all in. This place made us fall in love with Portugal — we’re already looking forward to returning. Thank you!

This is a stunning place secluded away from anything nearby. Great for a retreat to be restful, listen to nature and admire the beautiful horses. Cheila was an incredible host, super responsive to any questions or comments and gave us some beautiful lemons from her tree. The house is really well throughout and all amenities are included. Amazing Space! Perfect for a few days of rest, surrounded by nature. It's exactly like the pictures. It's really worth spending a few days here. And we couldn't ask for a better host, super available and cozy. We'll definitely come back!

The house is spacious, beautiful, well decorated and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The garden is very pleasant and provided some good evenings playing cards with the family. The location is quiet, but close to beautiful areas to visit (if you are by car). An excellent choice for a few days of rest, with the beauty of the green and the river.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Margaridi! Top accommodation, excellent host and staff. Recommended for people looking for a quiet, beautiful and luxurious place in Northern Portugal

This place is an absolute gem. It is one of the nicest places we found in Portugal. The house is located in a small vineyard. Beds were comfortable. There’s a wood fired barbeque a great outdoor covered area and a beautiful infinity pool. Every morning we had fresh bread delivered to our doorstep. We picked lemons and oranges from around the house and had the host deliver us fruit. It was beautiful and quiet. The only negative is that we enjoy the place so much we did not visit any of the surrounding areas😊. If we had any questions, the host was response almost immediately with suggestions for places to go restaurants, markets. We had an excellent day and would return and stay there again anytime. It is definitely a 10 out of 10 definitely highly recommended.

Peaceful and clean place with a unique location.

Fantastic stay at Ricardo's villa! Beautiful pool and villa setup in an incredibly secluded part of the countryside. We went as a group of eight in our late twenties - we didn't have a car so Ricardo organised a taxi for us to get around that was incredibly helpful, including to get down into the village to visit the INCREDIBLE Tasquinha do Tio Miguel! We will be back! Xxx

Amazing property and view. We had a terrific time. The property worked great for our group. Best sunset! Marco and his crew were extremely responsive. Driving in the Douro Valley is not for the faint of heart. We had a ball!

We had a wonderful stay at the Manor House in Porto! The highlight was definitely the terrace — we spent every evening out there enjoying the stunning views across the river. It was the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring the city. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a scenic and peaceful stay in Porto.

Amazing location, lots of space, bathroom for each room. Check in is fully remote. We arrived a few minutes early so needed to coordinate with the support through WApp to get in a few minutes before our check in time. Theoretically fully keyless, but they recommended keeping keys because the outer door can be deadbolted by other residents (though we didn’t run into this). Two sets of keys.

Beautiful family cottage in an area that is not so touristy, just outside the well kept town of Cinfaes. Accommodation is rustic but still with all amenities you could want, so it’s perfect. Paulo is very kind and responsive. No issues.

Luis’ place was excellent! There is a little park area with many great restaurants just around the corner. Luis offered many helpful recommendations. The place was spotless and had a great little balcony to sit out on. It’s close to most tourists spots if you are a walker. There are 2 flights of steps, in case that is an issue for you. We really enjoyed our stay at Tue’s house. It is a great size with good bedrooms and plenty of living space. Ideal for our family of 7. The house is well equipped with plenty to do - swimming pool, bikes, pool table, large garden etc. The local area is very quiet with a good beach and some nice local walks. The weather wasn’t great while we were there, which was unfortunate and meant we couldn’t make full use of the pool etc. but it was great on the sunny days. It could perhaps be improved with some soft covers for the sun beds and maybe another sun umbrella. All in all though we had a great stay.

Despite the bad weather we could not swim in the pool, however, they made sure it was cleaned and we still hoped we could use it. The garden is also very well maintained. The house itself was as we expected, it was perfect for the 4 of us. There is plenty of everything and we felt right at home. Hopefully we can come back one day to spend time at the swimming pool!

We had a great time in Afife and enjoyed our stay at Joaos place. The location was very quiet (except the Honda shop across the street in the daytime) and Afife has not much to offer, which was okay for us but should be known in advance if you plan on eating outside. Porto is great to be reached by train and the beach is very close. With 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms there’s enough space for a big group and everything was very comfortable. The pool was open already and was cleaned during our stay. The only thing which I would point out on the negative side is that when we arrived it smelled a bit mouldy, probably due to the rainy weather and the fact that 3 of the bathrooms don’t have windows. The staircase to the lower part of the house is very steep. That’s a fact you should know when travelling with small kids. Joao was perfect to contact and always responded quickly whenever there were any questions. Thanks for having us. We would totally recommend to stay at his place.

We had a wonderful stay with Stefan and Lilian. The sweetest hosts! The house and the place are even more beautiful in reality than in the pictures. A perfect place to slow down. The hosts grow the most delicious vegetables, which you can buy from them. The warmest recommendations from here.

Ideal place to relax and contemplate nature.

Quiet location (which was what we wanted), excellent house, views, spacious (inside and outside/garden), lots of extras/gifts from the host, who was impeccable. I recommend it and we'll possibly return with warmer temperatures.

We had a great stay, we will definitely go back. The house is extremely comfortable, beautiful and versatile, it gives both a warm and cold height. The location is perfect, both for those who want to know Gerês, and for those who just want to rest and enjoy the amenities of the house. The hosts are super friendly and flexible, I highly recommend!

Excellent location to get away from the hustle of the city and unwind in the country side. Fully functional kitchen and pool was nice.
