Be immersed in the peace and quiet of a Tuscan olive orchard by staying in this stone farmhouse which features traditional architectural elements such as terra cotta floors, vaulted ceilings, and original wood fixtures. Dive into the plunge pool with sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea. For adventurous travelers who will appreciate the 10-minute panoramic walk to the house (we will transport your luggage and groceries by tractor). The magical view of the world below with the coast on the horizon which can be enjoyed from every room of the house and from the entire olive orchard with its walking paths and plunge pool with waterfall. Being a pedestrian village, Metato is quiet and peaceful. Yet, the beach and many great places to visit are a short drive away- Pisa, Florence, Lucca, the marble quarries of Cararra, Pietrasanta, Viareggio.... Guests have exclusive access to the pool and property. Metato is a friendly litttle village in the hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. There is a quaint family-run restaurant in the village that serves local homemade dishes at a very reasonable price. Our pedestrian village tends to attract kind people in search of peace and quiet and a proximity with nature. Time seems to go by more slowly here. It is a perfect base for families who want to explore Tuscany and the beaches of the Versilia coast. The home is in a beautiful, quiet location on a hill surrounded by olive orchards and vineyards just a 10-minute walk from the parking lot. Explore the medieval village of Metato where fireflies and breathtaking views await. Take an invigorating hike or head to the beaches a short drive away. There is a parking lot at the base of the village where you can park the car. The village itself is pedestrian but I am happy to greet guests at the parking lot on their arrival to transport their luggage, groceries and whoever wants to ride to the house with my little Italian tractor! The nearest airport is Pisa (45-minutes by car). All the major car rental places can be found there. The nearest train station is Viareggio.

Just 9 km from the walls of Lucca and close to Pisa(20 km), Viareggio (20 km), Garfagnana (45 km) and Florence (90 km), it is the perfect base for exploring Tuscany.

Elegant ancient villa Lucca

Casa Isabella is a recently renovated antique and elegant building, dating back to the 1800s and enriched during the "liberty era". It is located just a few meters from the train station and the walled city of Lucca. There is just one floor, the rooms are very bright , large and welcoming, with the romantic atmosphere of an authentic Tuscan period residence. The decor is designed with care. The house also offers a spacious terrace where you can wind down and enjoy pleasant outdoor meals.

Church of the Vaioni

An ancient deconsecrated church dating back to the early 1900s, originally built as a private chapel of Villa Philipson. Chiesino Dei Vaioni has a loft structure with two double bedrooms on two separate mezzanines. Outside, there is a kitchen with a wood-burning oven, private gardens with a tree-lined avenue and an olive grove. The gates and internal stairs were built by the Antica Fonderia Michelucci. Chiesino Dei Vaioni is immersed in the Tuscan countryside just minutes from the city.

Agriturismo le Vallilunghe, the apartment

The "le Vallilunghe" apartment is located within the agriturismo of the same name, built on the hills that divide Lucca from Viareggio, more precisely in the municipality of Chiatri. Despite being an oasis of peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city (the structure is in fact entirely surrounded by woods), from the farm you can reach in about 20 minutes by car: Lucca and its architectural beauties, Pisa and its leaning tower and Viareggio and the sea of Versilia!

This charming stone house offers the opportunity to wake up admiring the glimpse of the sea framed by lush hills that blend with the surrounding olive groves and vineyards. In the evening, waiting for twilight in the garden or under the patio, gives several surprises to nature lovers: the sunset brings with it the sea breeze and a play of colors every day different, often allowing the view of the Maritime Alps beyond the horizon of the sea.

In 2000 we decided to create a summer residence in order to offer a holiday made of hospitality and frendliness. Our structure is made of 5 comfortable apartments located in a beautiful hill. This marvellous position offers a unique landscape. It’s the perfect place for those families looking for a safe open space for their children.

BorgoMetato – Barn

There is a place a few steps away from the famous Versilia (Tuscany) called Borgo Metato Toscana. Here various structures have been designed by the Architect Stefano Viviani, who has realized In each of them, a very refined style respectful to the place. Il Borgo di Metato is surrounded by olive trees, lots of green spaces and there are some donkeys for the joy of children. Il FIENILE is part of this place.

VILLA GIOMA - Completely renovated country house

Charming rustic located on top of a private hill, complete remodeled in 2023 with private infinity pool surrounded by nature. The farmhouse has comfortable outdoor spaces where you can eat and relax in front of a breathtaking view. The whole house is equipped with air conditioning and each bedroom has a private bathroom. We charge an additional cost of 30€ per day for utilities to be paid at check in.
