Nellie was easy to contact to if we had any issues. The house was very comfortable and had everything we would need for our stay. Close to everything we needed to see or do. Nellie visited us the first day to see if we needed anything and informed us of places to fish or crab. I would be willing to stay there again on another fishing trip. Recommend anyone to stay at this place.

We had a great stay at Jen's place! It was very spacious and comfortable, and walkable to downtown Cambridge which had plenty of restaurants and bars to explore. The beds were comfortable and the amenities were as described. Jen was a very responsive host and helped out with all our questions. She also offered lots of local recommendations in Cambridge and the surrounding area. I'd definitely recommend Jen's place if you find yourself in Cambridge, MD :)

We stayed here for the Ironman 70.3 Eagleman race. The bike route goes right by the house at about mile 15. Beautiful house with plenty of room for everyone. The kids were outside fishing and kayaking constantly. When they were inside they were playing ping pong. Only thing I wish we would have brought is bug spray and itch ointment. We’d definitely stay here again for an Ironman.

I knew our stay here would be a wonderful experience even before our arrival based on Annie's detailed responses to my questions and genuine support of our group's needs to include our 2 dogs. The house is as pictured...warm, inviting and comfortable with all the modern amenities not always found in historic properties...full channel streaming and fast wifi. The beds are extremely comfortable with high quality linens and the showers have great water pressure. The temperature was in the high 90's for 3 days straight during our stay and the house stayed cool and comfortable. The garden is beautiful...Our dogs loved the space and the adjoining path. The neighborhood is quiet which allowed for some very enjoyable cocktail hours on the veranda in the evenings. There are several upscale eateries within walking distance. Ava's pizza and wine bar was a favorite in our group (Thin crust mushroom tart...yum). I highly recommend this property. Kudos to Annie for being an impeccable host.

Truly a wonderful place, only wish that our stay had been for longer! The home is a jewel - clean and spacious with updated amenities, beautiful views, outstanding features like a gorgeous backyard with small vegetable garden and a fire pit (we made s'mores!) and bikes to take us everywhere around the area. We would definitely rent again!

This was our second stay at Heron’s Rest with our extended family—siblings, partners, and one teen—and we’re already planning our return. It truly feels like our home away from home. Claire and Dominique could not be lovelier. From the moment we booked, everything felt seamless and welcoming. Their thoughtfulness shows in every detail—from the beautiful kitchen and quality linens to the heartfelt notes and local recommendations. The house and outside space is designed for comfort and peace, with stunning views of the Choptank River and soothing bird melodies. We love to cook, and Heron’s Rest is a dream—fully stocked, complete with cookbooks and even an ice cream maker. Their crab chowder recipe is now a favorite at home. And the art! Each room features something special—sophisticated yet cozy. Dominique’s eye is truly inspiring. Heron’s Rest is more than a rental—it’s a space to unwind, reconnect, and savor. We can’t wait to come back. We all already miss Heron's Rest!

Glen's place was a perfect retreat for our large group. Access to the water for kayaks and paddle boards, close enough to the small town of Cambridge to easily get there, great wildlife refuge within minutes with great walking and bike trails. Couldn't beat the location. We already want to make plans to come back if they will have us. We encountered a small problem when we checked in, but Julia and Glen addressed it immediately and went out of their way to provide a solution for our group. Julia was a great host and always responsive. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!
