Casale Monticchio - The Pigsties, up to 3 people

We created this 90sqm apartment from the old pigsties. Why they gave the pigs three beautiful south facing arched windows we still don’t know! The open-plan layout was designed to take into consideration wheel chair access as this is the only apartment on one level. The feeling is quite contemporary with one stone wall and the others being painted white. It is the most secluded of our apartments as it faces south onto the open fields toward Mercatello, where there is a nice bar run by Paola.

It is a 60 sqm annex suitable for couples who want to visit our region. We don't have a swimming pool but we have the truffle ground, the stream, the roe deer, porcupines, wild boars, our cats and the little dog Moti. In the garden, you will find herbs, fruit, and garden produce. Inside the cottage we rent, you will have our olive oil and helichrysum liqueur that we produce. We also produce saffron, but we sell it! Of course, pets are welcome!

This is a very special place entirely surrounded by gentle rolling hills, with views across expansive countryside. It has been beautifully designed and arranged as a quality destination. The rooms and common areas are very comfortable, clean, cool (with air con if required) with beautiful linen and enormous beds. If peace and quiet, and only the sound of birds is the atmosphere you're after, this is every bit and more than described. Michele and Marco were very welcoming, helpful and charming. The house staff were also fantastic. Although the restaurant wasn't open during our stay, we are sure the food would be superb. Instead we were recommended some excellent local restaurants within a few miles drive. Being so close to Perugia and its airport, we are sure to be back for some more clean pure air and wonderful hospitality.

Impeccable and accurate. The apartment is NEW and is also very nice. The kitchen is equipped with everything ,in the bathroom there were towels and even disposable vials and paper , basically as in a hotel . Floor HEATING that regulates the optimal temperature, spare blankets... Great internet connection, a small office and a nice TV... in short, everything... everything , just a few steps from the apartment there is a grocery store, the pharmacy, the distributor and a bar, more than a review I have to congratulate ! Thank you Gabriele and Marta, our stay was quiet and relaxing... the place was nice and great for what we had to do... I hope to return soon... I highly recommend it to everyone

We loved staying at Daniela's. The view was beautiful from the garden and was perfect for relaxing in the sun. The room was so lovely, modern and slept so well there. The bathroom and ajacent store area is also lovely and very tastefully decorated. The icing on the cake is Aki the most affectionate young Labrador. Thank you Daniela

What made the experience even more memorable was her recommendation to try her father’s amazing Roman cuisine, perfectly paired with local wines. It was an unforgettable meal and a true highlight of our trip. The farmhouse itself is beautifully located in the heart of Tuscany. It’s the perfect base for exploring nearby cities and the stunning countryside. Thanks to the central location, we were able to easily travel around and soak in all the beauty Tuscany has to offer.
