Beautiful Cottage with Suntrap Garden

The cottage is located just out of the centre of Hay opposite the beautiful St Mary's Church. It is slightly quieter here than in the heart of the town but is still only a 5 minute walk into the centre. It is very easy to access the river walks, simply taking the path to the right of the church. The cottage is full of character with wooden beams, a wood-burning stove, the original fireplace in the bedroom, wooden flooring throughout the downstairs, and a beautiful south-facing garden.

The Studio is 3 miles outside the beautiful town of Hay on Wye, on the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons and famous for its bookshops and annual literature, music and walking festivals as well as a host of charming independent shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a cinema and weekly farmers market.

The house is very cosy yet modern with an open plan ground floor with kitchen whilst the upstairs bedroom has a kingsize bed & a large walk in shower in the bathroom. Wanted a cheap and cheerful place to stay on a weekend bike tour and it totally met our demands in that respect. Injury stopped it being a bike tour, but still a lovely no-fuss accommoadtion option within 20 minute walk of Hay on Wye. Real quirky little pod, and the smiley face on the back a nice touch! No bathroom facilities, but a well maintained shower and toilet block less than 50m away. Really pleased with the stay overall.

We could not have been more pleased with Mouse Cottage Barn! Mr & Mrs Jones and their daughter were extremely helpful right from the off, with some wonderful homely touches such as homemade cake on arrival plus fresh flowers in every room. The Barn is extremely comfortable and well-equipped, proving to be the perfect accommodation for our group. We were in Hay for the annual Big Black Mountains Challenge and will have no hesitation whatsoever in looking to book again for next year!

I can't even put in to words how perfect the location is, the view and the place itself! it was absolutely gorgeous down to all the little details. the outdoor cinema was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the alpacas and sheep. it's nestled away, far away from everything else and with a beautiful view. it's just what we needed!

Well located accommodation in the centre of Hay. The property was clean and tidy and Jessica was responsive and available if needed. Would recommend as a place to stay if you are looking for a break in the lovely book town of Hay on Wye.
