This new guest cottage is just a 5 minute walk to the beach. There are beautiful ocean views from the deck, large french doors and huge windows. The decor has a boutique cottage feel. The farmhouse sink and high end appliances make this cottage a great place to cook and enjoy. This cottage is a very private separate building from our home, with a private hot tub in your own courtyard. It is a completely self contained, equipped space with everything you will need for a great stay!

We had a fantastic stay at the Tiny Home just outside of Nanaimo. Was a beautiful property, had a great space for the hot tub and sauna, and was really easy to find! Megan was a fantastic host, and went above and beyond accommodating us on our trip. Would highly recommend staying here for anyone who just wants to relax, or even if you’re heading out and about in the Nanaimo area. It’s a great place to come back to and relax after a day of getting out. Thanks for a wonderful week!

Oceanfront living at Departure Bay Beach, sleep 4

The condo is spacious, modern, and well-set-up. It's in a quiet neighborhood on a dead-end street. The beach is truly only a few steps away! We LOVED watching the BC ferry and air taxis leave and arrive from the dock at the end of the bay. And we had a front-row-seat to super high and low tides and the gull, raven, heron, and eagle dramas that ensued with low tides. It was such a pleasure to just relax, watch the water and birds, and amble about on the beach! The house is also an easy drive from numerous excellent restaurants and not far from lots of good hiking options. Peter was also very quick to respond and flexible about check-in and check-out times! The one thing to know is that it is a condo, so you do hear the neighbors, but that shouldn't keep you from thoroughly luxuriating in this really special house in such a special location! We are already trying to figure out how to come back!

We had a quick but wonderful stay. The space was very clean, with a comfortable bed, and nice snacks left from the hosts. We especially appreciated the washer and dryer, as we were halfway through our vacation and it was so nice to have clean clothes. The location is close and convenient for the Departure Bay ferry. We would very happily stay here again if we come back to the island.

Absolutely unique property the view of the Pacific was amazing. It is situated right at the end of the road so no passing traffic or people - very peaceful Very well equipped and comfortable Rob was very responsive especially when I couldn’t work out how to lock the door when we went out (you just press the unlock button). It’s amazing

This is such an amazing peaceful place to stay. There was everything we needed for a basic stay, plus the kids toys were a great touch. The access to laundry was so helpful. Madison and Ryan were amazingly responsive and accommodating. We'll definitely be staying here again when we come back to Nanaimo!

We didn’t interact with Brian and Shauna but they reached out initially to let us know they were available, we just didn’t end up needing anything but it was nice of them to be in touch. The space is perfect for 2, spotlessly clean and well provisioned with all the basics. Very comfy bed, cozy deck with a beautiful view out over the water. Quiet neighborhood, the unit feels very private, and access to beaches, restaurants, hiking trails and more was super convenient. We had a great stay, no complaints at all.

Absolutely loved staying here! The vibe of the place was immaculate, I think my favourite accent was the red shower! Super tidy, clean, and private. Great communication with the host and felt right at home. No problems finding places to eat , or things to do. 5 star place for me!
