Lake house holiday rentals in Dowagiac

A group of two couples had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It has beautiful views of the lake where we enjoyed mornings and sunsets from the living room and the little balcony in front. The first floor has the living area and kitchen, plus a bathroom and a bedroom (double bed) without views. It also has a small balcony right outside the living room. The lower level has a kitchenette (plus another full-size fridge) with a small dining table, laundry, and a larger bedroom with two double beds with a bunk bed as well. This room has great views of the lake and onto a larger patio. One level lower is the waterfront and a dock. The place was clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. We also took advantage of the outdoor gas grill. It was a bit too cold to use the outdoor dining table, but the lower level deck is very nice and has a swinging bench. We would definitely book again!

We had a great time! And, we would come back. Beautiful view of the lake, beautifully decorated and great layout. It was so nice to have a bathroom for each bedroom. Plenty of towels and lake towels as well. Easily accommodated 3 couples. A great place for families as well! Hosts were very responsive and helpful with questions. The kitchen was well stocked. It was so nice to have the kayaks available and the pontoon was really fun. Drive to Notre Dame was easy.

We’ve had many Airbnb stays over the years, in many countries and states, and I have to say that this house is on our top 5 list. It’s modern, super clean and super spacious (we were a group of 7). It’s stocked with towels, stocked with toiletries, stocked with kitchen supplies, stocked with games and toys. Anything you need is there. Kayaks, corn hole, jumbo jenga. We had so much fun from the grandparents all the way to the grandkids. It’s hard to find a waterfront property without a lot of stairs and with the accessibility challenges my mother has, this house was perfect, as it only had two little steps to get into the kitchen. Beautiful, peaceful, serene - Sandra's place was comfortable for all our guests and was super well stocked with everything we needed to make ourselves at home. Highly recommend if you are looking for a slower pace weekend getaway.

We loved our stay! This was the perfect place to have a family gathering over the holidays for those traveling from out of town.

Beautiful views right on the coast of Lake Michigan. The place feels very cared for and has lots of great nooks to retreat to and just relax. We absolutely loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Fair warning there are a lot of steps (my kids counted 169 to be exact) to get down to the beach but that didn’t deter us from going and the beach felt very private - we were literally the only ones there. It did limit our ability to send the kids without us for the younger ones which was fine but something to note if you were hoping to just watch them from the porch. We ate out pretty much the whole trip - highly recommend the Copper Pot and the cute market next door to it (pick out a charcuterie board from the cheese lady!). Overall a lovely trip! Thanks for having us!

House had everything we needed for our family to gather and feel at home. Having firewood readily available for campfires was great. We made some great family memories this past weekend!

The home was beautiful and clean. The bed linens were washed and fresh, the bathrooms were like home. I would definately rent again as I give it a five star rating.

This is our second stay in this home. Quaint, clean, and in the heart of New Buffalo. We loved that our dog could join us! Plenty of towels, linens, cleaning supplies, and amenities that made our stay comfortable. I highly recommend!

Pure Michigan is exactly what it stands for. So is the Stepping Stone Lakehouse. This property is right near 3 Lakes and a Beautiful Park with lots of things to do around the area. We used the house for a family gathering because our nephew graduated from Portage North High School. The outdoor patio was perfect for us to sit outside and catch up with family and to reminisce and make new memories. 💯 would recommend this home.

Comfortable & peaceful home right on the lake! We enjoyed the cottage for several days while visiting family nearby. It was a great place for our family of 4.

This was our second time staying at Cheryl's place. The house has everything you need to cook, relax, and play indoor and outdoor games. Comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. Kitchen is big and ample room for everyone to join in preparing meals. We especially love the outdoor space. The location is ideal - grocery store and other markets close by. Downtown South Haven just a short drive away and about 20 minutes or so from Douglas and Saugatuck. Cheryl is a very responsive host!

Hosts were very responsive. The house was clean, nicely decorated and had everything we would need. We felt very at home here. If all airbnb's are like this, I won't stay in hotels anymore, it will be airbnb's for me (this was my first airbnb experience).

We really enjoyed our stay at Jennifer’s house! It was clean, great location & cozy! We especially loved the automatic pool cover so we could actually relax on vacation with our little ones running around. I also loved the three separate areas outside (pool, fire pit, grassy area). The separate areas offered a nice change of scenery to break up the day without leaving the house. I also loved that it’s a spacious ranch style house, so was easy to keep eyes on the kids. Jennifer was a wonderful & accommodating host & can’t wait to get back to her house soon! Thanks for having us!

The place was perfect for our family getaway. Walkable distance to the beach, the hot tub and bicycles were great perks! Local farmers market, antique shops, bakeries and coffee shops, sand dunes and kayaking and evenings spent with family around the fire pit. The house was well maintained and beautifully designed. Beds were so comfortable! Thank you.

Highly recommend staying here for a lake vacation! It’s a beautiful spot with easy swimming, kayaking, and fishing right out the back door. It was extremely clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking items and dishes. The beach towels and chairs that were available were so helpful to us. And Alanna graciously allowed us a late check out after our son’s baseball game so we didn’t have to rush. I will say, we had 4 adults and 5 kids (1 toddler) and this place certainly can accommodate everyone, but probably better suited for a family of 5-6 if you have to spend time indoors. But our kids even said they wanted to make this a yearly vacation spot.

Michele's cottage was so cozy & the river views were just stunning!! I spent hours just sitting on the pier, watching otters swim & listening to the variety of bird songs! It was such a peaceful & beautiful experience. Thank you Michele!

We came into town for a wedding and brought our 2 dogs and wanted to stay someplace safe and quiet and we definitely found that with Edgar’s home. The location was easy to find and it was nice to have private parking right along the lake. The access to the home was easy and the home nicely is decorated with every amenity you need to cook your own food. Views from the home are lovely and we went out onto the dock and spent time on the private beach a couple of the nights we were there. The beds were extremely comfortable and there were plenty of towels, which I appreciated. Location makes it easy to get into town for grocery shopping and there is a brewery in town that makes great smash burgers called Useless Creatures. We walked around the neighborhood a couple of times and we also found a great hiking spot to take the dogs very nearby. Overall, a very comfortable stay in a beautiful location.

what a beautiful place! The house is nicely done and well equipped. We loved spending a day on the lake with the pontoon. In addition, John and Kevin have two kayaks at the house that we enjoyed using. And we spent our evenings sitting at the fireplace and looking onto the lake. We had the best time here, thanks for this great place!

Our stay was great! You can tell that this home is their baby! It was so well taken care of. They have everything you could ever need here. It was beautiful and peaceful as the home is located in a rural area. I would definitely recommend. One thing to note is if you are using their early check in but no longer need it, make sure to cancel it in advance. We tried canceling the week of and it wasn’t an option anymore. Not a huge issue just good to know and be aware of. Overall our stay was great!
