The Retreat @ Solway House is a cosy 1-bed annex tucked away in our garden in the peaceful hamlet of Rigg, just 1 mile from Gretna Green. Our semi rural location is only a 3 mile drive from the M6/and just off the A75, the perfect stop over to break up any car journey, we provide parking for one car on our driveway. The Annex is a self-contained tiny home with its own private entrance, featuring a double bed, log burner, cosy sofa area, shower room, and a fully equipped kitchen/dining area.

There are many tourist attractions near by that can either be reached by car, bus or train. This accommodation offers something for everybody.

A double bed and en suite shower awaits in fresh comfortable surroundings. Open to all travellers but please be aware of access arrangements to the property -access up a lane. Free on street parking is available nearby (100m approx)

Situated on Castletown Estate you can walk out of the garden gate and straight onto the river side with access to walks not publicly available.

Orchard Cottage was originally an 18th century 'Solway Plain clay dabbin' farmer's cottage (named after the fruit trees that are still in the garden), now fully restored with many of its original features. It is a perfect cosy getaway for those wanting to explore the Lakes, Hadrian's Wall and other highlights of this beautiful county. It is a great base to sample the many delights Cumbria has to offer.

Camping pod in western lakes

Our beautiful camping pod sleeps 2 adults comfortably but could sleep 3 adults or 2 plus 1 young child. Pet friendly. There is a double bed in the pod. Based on our working farm with panoramic views of local fells and Skiddaw. We have 3 camping pods all sited for guest privacy but could all be hired by friends.
