3.5 hours
Includes food, drinks
Up to 10 people
Hosted in English, Dutch
What you'll do
Meet me at my local cafe over a coffee or tea.
We'll walk through bush land around Manly Dam lake formed when the original dam wall was built here in 1892. Spot rock evidence of local aboriginal living which is more than 30,000 years old, and enjoy native flora and wild life.
While we walk a 9km route we can enjoy spectacular district views, with our route taking us through native bush land, rock formations, and along a waterfall.
Along the way I will share some seasonal fruit I'll bring along for you. There's an option to swim in the lake after our walk, so bring along swimmers and a towel if you like that idea. We'll finish where we started on this circular walk, close to lunch cafes.
Other things to note
There are great walking routes for all weather patterns, so our experience is an all-weather event! If you'd like information about transport to our meeting place, please contact me and I'll help you.

I'm Victor, and I'll be hosting our walk solo. I've been lucky to live on Sydney's Northern Beaches since 1998. I am passionate about our local natural beauty, and regularly walk in the area.
I work as a life/business/conflict coach, mediator, and Airbnb accommodation host. I love meeting new people, and the exposure that brings to diverse habits, preferences, and humour.

Where you'll be
There's so much greenery to Sydney's north. We'll explore the Manly Dam area with its native trees, flowers, and wildlife on foot starting at Manly Vale.
We had a great hike with Victor. The landscape and nature were very nice, the sounds of the birds, the smells, the colors... Great combination together with our urban experience in Sydney. The trip is abt 3.5 hrs, through the bush and around a lake, with different types of landscapes. The hike is easily accesible, mainly flat terrain but also going up and down some hills and rocks. Not too difficult or steep; no mountaineering skills required, but very enjoyable. Victor is a warm and friendly guide, informing us about the nature and the traces of the Aboriginals, and exchanging some lessons of life. We had a great time and highly recommend the tour!

It was a real healing for me. Beautiful trees,
flowers, waters and animals.
And Victor and I was willing to share our experiences
and opinions on the way, which gave me a lot of fun and wisdom. If you’d like to have a friendly bush walk tour, just go for it!

This was such a great walk - I can only say I would do it again anytime. Victor is the perfect guide and he absolutely loves what he is doing so it is so much fun to walk with him. For our tour the weather was a little overcast - perfect for the walk. We saw a waterdragon who swam through the water in order to get close to us - only half a meter away and we even saw a kangaroo at the end of the walk. Lots of great trees, bushes and of course the lakes. Don't miss out - go for this tour and you won't regret it!

The bush walk was terrific. Victor is an excellent guide who knows the flora, fauna, and history of the area. Some parts of the walk were challenging. The views of Sydney’s skyline made the uphill hike worth it. The location is easy to travel to on public transportation. I highly recommend this experience.
