What you'll do

We’ll be visiting several historical buildings together on this walk. First, we’ll go to an antique Mexican school where you'll learn about the organization of pre-Hispanic culture. Next, we’ll go to a Novohispanic church dedicated to nuns, where we'll see the importance of religion since the conquest of Mexico to the present day. You’ll see a mural painting from the beginning of the 20th century at another church to help you understand the development of Mexican mural painting. Finally we’ll move on to a market, where you'll see more murals that reflect the social, economic, and political changes affecting the Mexican people.
Other things to note
We recommend to use comfortable shoes and clothes. Food it is not included on our tour, only one drink.

We had a wonderful tour with Beatrice and Carlos, they took us to spots that we never would have found on our own. They are incredibly knowledgeable of the history of Mexico and showed us many hidden gems. I've lived in Mexico and studied the culture/history at the university level and they still managed to introduce me to elements and historic figures I hadn't known. One of the things I especially appreciated was that there were very few other tourists in the places we went, which made it feel special and intimate.

Wonderful tour! Beatriz and Carlos are so smart and thoughtful and the tour stops were off the beaten path and engaging. The rooftop bar was a perfect ending and we had great conversations.

Beatriz and Carlos gave an amazing tour of Mexico City off the beaten path. I learned so much not only from the tour itself but also from asking tons of questions about the culture and day to day life in modern day Mexico City. Thank you both so much for a truly memorable experience! Highly recommend to anyone who is visiting. It’s a must have!

This is an exceptional tour of Mexico City. Beatriz and Carlos are truly kind people and amazingly intelligent historians. We learned about the ruins that lie beneath the city center, the Spanish colonists who came and forced their culture onto the native people and the native people who preserved their rituals through hidden symbols in church walls. Another highlight of the tour was seeing all the murals and hearing Beatriz and Carlos talk about the stories behind them. This wonderful tour touches on art, religion, war, architecture and culture. Everyone should take this tour.

Two delightful and very informative guides will show you hidden art and places you would normally walk past. They also do a market tour which we hope to have time to fit in. I highly recommend.
