What you'll do
We will be touring one of the last remaining pristine salt marshes in South Florida! See more wildlife and avoid the heat of the day with this gorgeous late afternoon hike. We begin the hike by admiring a wide variety of lush tropical vegetation in a uplands system while learning about the local history. We then hike south, over primitive trails, where we will explore a series of fresh water lakes. Our destination is an expansive salt marsh where, invertebrates, butterflies, and wading birds are plentiful. We will end with a light break before heading back.
