What you'll do

We will start aboard the boat and move down or up the river depending on the tide. You will immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the mangroves—extremely adaptive trees. Along the way you will get to plant a mangrove tree and contribute to the preservation of our planet. Out on the river we will find three different species of monkeys including the white-headed capuchins, endemic squirrel monkeys, and Howler monkeys. The area is well-known worldwide as one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. We will also look for three kinds of boas, crocodiles, caimans, and other reptiles such as green iguanas, the common basilisk—known as the Jesus lizard—and turtles. It is also possible to spot a great variety of water birds and land birds. Come and discover nature.
Other things to note
Bring sunblock, camera, extra water, a hat, sunglasses, and a raincoat from May to November.

Where you'll be

We will be in the Sierpe River in Osa. Osa is considered one of the more biodiverse places in the world. It holds two and a half percent of the whole world's biodiversity. We spent a marvellous afternoon and Enoc knew where to find the wildlife and plants we wanted to see. The boat driver was also good at spotting things and was interested in the wildlife. We had the boat and guide just for us, which also made it more special.

We had a great experience on the river cruise with Enoc! He had interesting knowledge and talked with passion about the river and the animals. We brought our two young children who enjoyed the trip at the same time as it felt safe for us. Will absolutely recommend!

It was a wonderful experience! We saw a great variety of wildlife (birds, monkeys, snakes, crocodiles, etc.) Enoc was extremely knowledgeable. This truly felt like a unique experience as my girlfriend and I were the only ones on the tour. We recommend you take the 7:00am tour since we were the first ones on the river. We highly recommend this tour with Enoc.

This tour is amazing! From the beginning Enoc the host makes you feel very at ease. He’s very knowledgeable about not only the animals in the wild but the fauna and history of the area as well. We saw all kinds of animals that are wild in Costa Rica, 3 kinds of monkeys, Scarlet Macaws, lots of other birds, lizards, crocodiles, turtles and more. Great value and excellent host!
