What you'll do

You'll start off learning the salsa basics. We'll review the musical structure of salsa, the basic step, cross body lead and more. We'll work up quite the appetite, so, after class we'll dine on some of the BEST burritos in San Francisco. After eating, we'll head out to a local salsa night to practice our moves and dance the night away!
Other things to note
No partner required!

Dress for the day and night can be casual. Jeans and a t-shirt or nice blouse is fine. If you have dance shoes, great! If not, I recommend wearing non-sneakers.

I'm a 10-year veteran of the salsa-dancing community and I love to dance! I started my own salsa studio where I taught for a decade and now teach in San Francisco. I've given a TEDx talk on salsa dancing (youtu.be/7djdmA8yixs) and I'm a contributing editor at SocialDanceCommunity.com. I've traveled the world to dance and perform, and I look forward to sharing my passion for salsa with you.

This experience was a great introduction to the world of latin (salsa) dancing! The night was a great immersion experience, rather than just a singular tutorial or lesson. Had a great time getting to know the other individual learners and couples that attended, as well as the fantastic couple that led our instruction! BEST part of the experience was the ability to learn, practice and apply the steps we learned all in one night. It really helps with retention and passion for a new hobby. LOVED every minute! Can't wait to attend another. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is a fantastic experience! Rob and Rosanna were very kind and definitely salsa experts. I had a great time, learned some salsa moves that I want to keep practicing, and also got to try some yummy Mexican food. It's definitely a safe space for beginners and Rob and Rosanna make it easy to learn!

Great experience! Rob and Rosanna were friendly and really helped us all feel comfortable doing something new and sometimes awkward. I had some salsa experience already under my belt, but still felt like I got a fun night socializing, dancing, and eating good food while my partner learned to salsa with me. Highly recommend!

I appreciated it when Rob told the class to “embrace the awkwardness”. That took some of the anxiety out, and I felt like I could really learn with the expectation of goofing up dance steps here and there We started as a class, had dinner, and then joined a salsa social. You only have enough time to learn about 3-4 moves, and then you’re thrown into the mix. In my class, I was only one of 3 who wasn’t there with another friend, but the co-host helped by dancing with me and helping me get some of the timing down It was pretty nice when Rob taught us some moves while we were just waiting on the sidelines, I appreciated that. Will build on this, and appreciated the experience

Rob and Rosana are both very passionate and talented. It's a lot of fun to watch them dance, and even more fun when they dance with you! Their carefree spirit really helped me to feel comfortable and intimidated. This class was a great intro to salsa dancing, and it's inspired me to look for someplace to take lessons.
