My name is Miles Jackson and I am the Co Founder and Executive Director of Cuba Skate, Inc. I live and work in Washington, D.C. where I co manage Bureau Skate Shop. I studied abroad in Havana, Cuba in 2010 during my last semester of college. After this amazing experience, my partner and I started Cuba Skate, Inc. as a way to give back and support our Cuban skate family.
I've traveled to Cuba more than 100 times in 10 years and am more inspired and motivated after each trip. The Cuban people and their happiness and energy is contagious.
I love my work and all of the people we work with!

Very unique experience! I think because we messaged the host that we don't skate, we ended up in a cooking class with Pepe, who is involved with Cuba Skate, and one his relatives, who is a skater, makes skateboards, and placemats made from skateboards. Pepe graciously welcomed us into his home and cooked a proper meal for us - actually the best Cuban food we had during our stay in Havana! Very flavorful and tasty. The only challenge is that our Spanish isn't great and Pepe or Ole don't speak much English, but they were great sports about everything. Great way to see the real Havana!
