What you'll do

Your adventure will start with a gorgeous 15 mile drive from Santa Barbara, made up of rolling hills & stunning vistas of the mountains, Pacific Coast and Channel Islands. After some recommended stops to take in the view, you'll arrive at the gate of the 80 acre ranch, where your host will meet and guide you through the private land.

Once on the land, you will be greeted by Maynard, our free-roaming, domesticated zebra & two llamas. Each guest will receive "goodies" to feed the zebra and llamas. 2.5 hours on the ranch will allow you plenty of time to explore the private trails and photo ops with our animals.

A delicious meal made up of locals' favorite foods and beverages will be served at our eco-conscious campsite; including free mimosas for legal-aged guests, coffee, tea and healthy cuisine. The campsite is equipped with a solar-powered full functioning kitchen, bathroom, two yurts and outdoor patios for lounging. After the full morning on the ranch, you will be given instructions on how best to enjoy the surrounding area including local secret spots, additional hiking, rock climbing, historical sites, and a historic live music venue in the wilderness.
Other things to note
Bring your own camera, bug spray & sun screen.

My partner has spent 30 years on the ranch, building with his own hands, this eco-conscious living environment which allows for modern living, in complete privacy & submersion into nature. The campsite is a true example of how solar power & conscious development can support high quality living. I, a yoga instructor and lover of nature & healthy living practices, am inspired each day by the land and want to share this treasure with others.

The brunch was amazing and Maynard was more than happy to make some new friends! I would highly recommend this trip, but make sure to wear layers, as it can get pretty chilly!

Kai was extremely friendly and accommodating. We had this as one of the bachelorette party weekend events and it was honestly perfect. We had fun feeding the zebra and two llamas, exploring the property, and eating Kai's delicious cooking. This was our first Airbnb experience and we all left wanting to try more in the future since this was so great.

This experience was amazing! We were able to feed the lovely zebra and llamas, explore the hiking areas, and Kai prepared us a great meal. She was the best host ever!! She made us feel comfortable and let us explore the multiple acre grounds and roam freely at our leisure, which was so fun. She was very friendly as was her partner James. It's an experience we definitely want to revisit in the future! Thank you so much Kai!!
