I'm a journalist who was born in Rio de Janeiro. Since I was a kid, I've been fascinated with the mysteries and urban legends that have occurred in the city's streets and buildings. Even today, I continue to search extraordinary unsolved cases on the internet and at the libraries. Had Edgar Allan Poe been able to use Rio as his inspiration, he'd have had no lack of scenarios to feed his creativity. Whether they're true or not, these cases contribute to making the city much more interesting and wonderful.
Where you'll be
Our first stop will be at the Republican Museum in the historic Catete neighborhood. After that, we'll ride the subway downtown and I'll take you to the Candelária Church. From there, we'll walk through the areas where the slaves were negotiated and where Rio's Witch used to capture her victims. We'll see several places along the way, including the Municipal Theater in the Cinelândia area, where strange things have happened and no one knows why.
