What you'll do

A Florence walking tour features many layers of architecture and art in plain view. Problem is: how to make heads or tails of it all. The objective of my Florence walking tour is to share with you my passion for the city's history, especially regarding the Renaissance. Together we will view some famous works of architecture and sculpture. We'll hear anecdotes relating to the buildings, the palaces and the fortunes that paid for them. Please bear in mind that if you are arriving by car your best bet will be to park in the garage situated under the Santa Maria Novella train station. During our walk there will be a short break at some point, either during or at the end of the walk, where we will share commentary about our Florence walking tour and tips on my favorite places to eat.
Remember to bring something to cover your shoulders and knees (when entering churches). A bottle of water is also a good thing to have.

A history buff with a passion for Florentine history, my Florence walking tour is all about sharing my insights with you and hearing your impressions on the city's history and traditions. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, I have limited my group size accordingly. For your peace of mind, you can choose the 'private group' option, and no one else will join us.
Please contact me before making your booking, especially if you want a private tour (all for yourselves) or if you have any special requirements. For safety it is paramount that you WEAR A FACE MASK. Also, hydration is especially important in the summer so please bring 500cl of WATER for each one of you in your group.

Where you'll be

The tour will feature the main sites in and around the city’s Medieval center, the political center (Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio) and (if time allows) the Cathedral complex. What makes this a unique Florence walking tour is that it offers access to some very private and secretive spaces which highlight the uniqueness of this city, the birthplace of the Renaissance.

Had a great 3 hour walk with Bruce. Am spending 2 weeks in Florence with my 2 kids (5 and 8) and my in-laws. We had a private tour with Bruce, both in English and Italian, with Bruce adapting our walk in order to entertain the kids and also make sure that my in-laws and the kids didn't have to walk too much. He showed real passion towards his work, and a real love for Florence. Unfortunately all museums are currently closed, but Florence itself is an open air museum!

Bruce is a history savant and surprises his guests at every corner on every road. He mixes his stories with personal experience and shares how historic lessons are still valid today. He's humorous and is excellent at English, French and Italian. Bruce showed great motivation to provide us with an unforgettable experience in the heart of Florence and the Renaissance.

We were two adults and two kids. Bruce was super interesting and made it really fascinating for the kids too. We learnt a lot. Bruce talks passionately about the city. The tour lasted longer than scheduled and we would have stayed had we not booked a time at the Cupola. I recommend Bruce to everyone. It was a great experience.

Bruce a été un guide parfait. Il maîtrise son sujet et même plus. Une jolie plongée dans la renaissance, qu'on soit néophyte ou non. Idéal aussi en famille.

We had a fantastic walk guided by Bruce around the center of Florence. Bruce gave us a brief history how it all started started for Florence and then we immersed into the Renaissance history and architecture of the most beautiful buildings and piazzas of the world. Almost three hours flew by and we realized that we are tired only when Bruce brought us to the oldest pharmacy in the world with rooms full of frescoes . Bruce is an excellent guide, engaging , super knowledgeable and friendly. He had lots of interesting stories and facts and we did not want the tour to end. So we will be back . I would highly recommend Bruce as your guide if you want not only to see Florence but to feel it as well.
