What you'll do

Seochon—where my studio is located—is an old Seoul neighborhood that inspires me. Here, I can see old and new, and find inspiration in the hidden alleys, small galleries, and historic architecture. We'll stroll through the alleys of Seochon so I can show you the secret treasures I keep for myself. We'll stop by the interesting art museum of korean landscape painter Lee sang-beom. Then we'll go to my studio to paint together and enjoy some Korean tea and dessert. I'll provide the materials for you to learn Minhwa—Korean folk painting—while you experience the beauty of traditional painting with resident artists. you'll learn the modern and fun-loving aesthetic of Korean culture. I will guide you and help you bring your finished work back home safely.

I am an artist living in Seoul. I am specialized in using textile material. tapestry is my main language to express my ideas. I have researched technique for about 10 years, experiment lots of material and colours. Now I have been focused on small tapestry weaving which is quite fun to know if you want to have some quiet moment of your life. I am ready to share with you all the things I know. are you ready to chat and weave?

Awesome kid friendly experience! My 10 year old daughter and I did the folk art painting and it will be a highlight of our stay in Korea. Boa was genuinely a lovely host and knew her art.

This experience was great. I had a good time learning about Korean folk art and using watercolours to paint mine. Jiwon (Jace) was very helpful and guided me through the whole session. She was also really kind enough to give me recommendations for museums and crafts shops around Seoul. There were snacks, water and tea available as well. If you are looking to learn more about Korean folk art and bring home a little souvenir this experience is for you.

What a wonderful experience! I learned so much about Korean folk and contemporary art from Jace, who hosted me at their cute studio in Jongno. I haven't been painting with water colours since primary school, but with a little help I now have a very personal gift for my niece. All the materials we used were very high quality and I loved the chat with Jace. A truly local and creative experience I wouldn't wanna miss while in Seoul. Highly recommended. :-)

My friend and I had a wonderful time! We took a walk around the neighbourhood, explored a hanok house and visited a studio to see some real folk art. Afterwards we were able to make our own designs with the help of our lovely guide, Jiwon. She was super helpful but also let us explore our own creativity. Would definitely recommend!

Had a good time painting with Boa and Jace. Nice way to relax in Seoul and do something a bit different. Their studio was cool and they were very friendly and approachable.
