What you'll do

In order for priests to face Buddha at Japanese temples, they have to use purifying body powder. We will make this powder in the class. We will take powder in our hands and rub each other, and apply it on our hands and arms. The natural woody ingredients are a disinfectant, and the fragrance calms the mind and spirit. It has a refreshing effect, depending on the mixture. I will explain each material, and you will choose the materials you like. It comes with a portable case to use at temples, at sutra-copying, and in ordinary life. You can take the rosewood case home. After the class, we'll have Japanese tea and sweets.

I have taught Japanese scents at cultural centers since 2004. I am a qualified master of scents—something very few people can achieve. I am also a master of Japanese tea, having earned my certification from the NPO Nihoncha Instructor Association. I have been teaching my own scent class for companies and schools since 2004, combined with healing sessions. Furthermore, I have been a licensed aroma therapy instructor since 2000, when I began hosting healing classes. I want you to feel at peace with your own body and mind through aromatic scents and tea.
