Where you'll be

Fort Mason will be the sole focus of this experience. I'll share history, and you will be part of a waterfront lifestyle that has held the attention of San Franiscans for all of the 20th century. The reconfiguring of military facilities has been one of the hallmarks of this city's evolution as a modern beacon of play and learning

We met Bernard at Ft. Mason this morning for a tour of the old military grounds, with a special interest in history and specifically military history, as my husband is retired military. Bernard has a wealth of information in that head of his. The tour ended up being different than we expected with a little less history and a little more current cultural development of the old fort buildings, but it turned out to be just the thing for us, anyway. We both have at least a passable appreciation for the arts, so seeing the galleries with someone who had real knowledge of the arts was a treat.

I really enjoyed the relaxed tour of Fort Mason. I learnt lots of interesting facts and got to see parts of the fort that I would not have realised I could access. Really enjoyable couple of hours.

I had a fantastic afternoon with Bernard. I am relatively new to living in San Francisco and I was so happy to have so much of the city uncovered for me that I likely wouldn't have found on my own. Bernard is incredibly knowledgeable and a great companion. I would recommend this experience to anyone and plan to book more with Bernard in the future!

Bernard gives a nice historical overview of Fort Mason and the surrounding art museums. I enjoyed the coffee house that is similar to a scientific library with a modern touch. I also enjoyed the healthy vegetarian lunch with the constant view of the ocean.

My parents and I took this tour with Bernard and it’s really an eclectic, deeply enjoyable mix of art, culture, good conversation, scenic views and local treasures. What else can I say? If you are interested book right away!
