What you'll do

SIP delicious NEW ZEALAND wine (of your choice) whilst learning about my country and its world-class wines!

Here in New Zealand it is all about quality and not quantity! We produce around ONE percent of the world’s total wine production.

BUT what a ONE percent!

New Zealand wine is known worldwide for its unique characteristics, high quality and its passionate winemakers.
Sauvignon Blanc was the first wine to put New Zealand on the international wine map in the 1980s, and it developed a cult following around the globe.
Since then, the world’s love affair with New Zealand wine has grown dramatically as wine lovers all over the globe continue to explore the diverse range of wine varieties and styles.

I will enlighten you on all of the above - and then some - and I will also give you a taste of New Zealand as a destination.

We are at the bottom of the world - and a DREAM and bucket-list-destination for many.

Please join me on this interactive presentation- especially if you enjoy wine and if you'd like to expand your knowledge about both wine and New Zealand as a destination.

For you to get ready for my passionate presentation - I suggest that you buy a bottle of New Zealand wine at your local supermarket/wine merchant and enjoy it with your friends/family whilst expanding your knowledge about New Zealand, its wines, its fabulous scenery etc. etc.

I am PASSINONATE about NEW ZEALAND WINE & NEW ZEALAND and love sharing my vast knowledge.

I am a journalist, an author and a top-notch tour manager.
I have "always" imbibed and enjoyed wine but it wasn’t till I moved to New Zealand in 2002 that I became keen to LEARN about wine.
Since then, I have written a plethora of articles - as well as a book about the New Zealand wine industry and its people, visited lots of wineries, attended hundreds of tastings etc.
And I continue to do so as NZ wine has become more than a hobby for me…
IF I were a wine: I would say that Pinot Noir sums me up: “Intense, expressive, fruit-driven. Old World structure and elegance meets New World power and intensity… notoriously fickle, the Pinot Noir grape has found in NZ a home away from home".
I live in sunny Nelson, one of NZ’s 10 main wine-growing regions.

This was a magical experience. So much so that the other participants have indicated they are going to organize their own groups to do it again! I had purchased this experience as a birthday present for a dear friend in a different country and she chose to invite 10 family members in yet ANOTHER country to join her in this birthday celebration. The effusive laudatory thank-you emails I received included such comments as ".......AMAZING how Kirsten held our rapt attention for 90 minutes....."; ".........I learned SO much about N.Z. wines and here I thought I already knew it all......"; "......what an utterly charming and expert host Kirsten was!" and on and on and ON with praise for both Kirsten and the experience she provided. Could not recommend this more highly if you are fascinated by N.Z. wines and as a lovely introduction to such a special country. THANK YOU KIRSTEN from Corey, Barbara (birthday girl), and the entire Hawaii family contingent!

We enjoyed it very much. Kirsten is very well-read and knows all the nooks and crannies of NZ wine and tourism industries. She is charming and has a warm personality that carries through the virtual presentation. We always liked NZ Sauvignon Blanc (or savvy as some say in NZ - yes we learned that in the class!) but this forced us to open our minds to even more and better NZ wines. We bought two nice bottles of NZ wine beyond our typical price range and it was such a treat to try them while learning. It was a bit longer than expected but I rather sit through a personalized wine tour than yet another Netflix rental. I would definitely try other activities by Kirsten.

This was a wonderful "taste" of New Zealand. Such a wonderful presentation of both the wine and the areas. Kirsten was a wealth of knowledge and very fun to spend time with. Most definitely made me want to get to New Zealand ASAP!!

In these weird Covid 19 times, we were able to have family get together for a birthday celebration whilst being miles away from each other. What a great idea to be able to experience such a wonderful Country through its wine history and all with my family that through lockdown, I can not see. The host so clearly loves her country and the wine it produces. I can highly recommend this wine tour, just have a few bottles in stock to start the trip and leave the rest to Kirsten. Cheers

We were fortunate to visit New Zealand in February 2018 and spending time with Kirsten brought back wonderful memories. And made us realize how much more we have to see!

This was a lovely evening, learning about the wineries in New Zealand (they are my favorite) and seeing the amazing photographs which leaves me hoping for a time when I might be able to see for myself. Kirsten was warm, engaging and knowledgeable.......I enjoyed every minute!!

More tips

I use a Power Point presentation so a "decent screen size" will be useful.
I encourage you to enjoy a bit of wine during my presentation but it is not compulsory... it is totally up to you.
If another times suits you better - ask me if I can do it then.
