Instead of making it a serious historical tour, we'd like to put the focus of this experience on the very authentic food by visiting very local places where only locals can find.
We will visit at least 3 places and try at least 6 different foods for breakfast such as wonton, soup dumplings, fried dumplings, scallion oil noodle, boiled rice dumplings, Shanghai mooncake, and pastries.
We have exclusive selections in each places depending on how many people will join, Minimum 6 dishes , we will add more dishes up to 10 if we have a big group of people !
we also have prepared a special menu for vegetarian guest, but the options will be limited compared to meat lovers( it's not easy to lead a vegetarian life in shanghai lol)
Have some small talks while enjoying our delicious food, we will share knowledge about chinese food cultures, how dishes are made, how to use chopsticks correctly and introduce you some chinese table manners...etc.
We will walk from place to place, and along the way We will lead you to some Shanghai style lanes where you can find unique spots to take pictures.
Other things to note

Not suitable for vegan.
Please arrive on time, we do not host latecomers who are late more than 15 mins

This experience has three hosts: Lily, Jianqiao, and Claire. Lily is an experienced city-walk leader based in Shanghai. Jianniao and Claire were born and brought up in Shanghai, and have a deep love for this city. Their common passion for Shanghai snacks brought them together. After trying tons of soup dumplings and noodles, they decided to make an experience for all people who travel to Shanghai to have a taste of local breakfast, just like all locals do. This city is delicious, and you will know that by heart.
Where you'll be
We will be in the Jing'an districts. We'll start and finish near Jiangsu Road Metro station. We will walk in the middle of the city, which is partly a modern shopping mall area and partly small alleys and old Shanghainese style buildings. It is a very central and nice neighborhood where you can easily spend a day after the experience.
Not only the food was incredibly tasty, but all the places we went were super authentic, the kind of places only locals visit. Lily is a great host, very knowledgeable and interesting. Really really enjoyed my experience and fully recommended it. Great value for all that you eat and learn!

Lily was funny, interesting and interested in getting to know us. We loved spending time with her and getting to know Shanghai breakfast through her eyes. Every where we went was accessible if you speak Chinese, but if not- good luck trying these foods! We don't speak any Chinese, so her help made our trip. We love the variety of places she took us, her conversation, and the extra time she spent getting to know us. You didn't feel like she was pushing you through to get on with her next thing. We felt like we made a friend versus a company tour guide. We were impressed with her professionalism and how delightful she was. I would not hesitate to recommend her for any tour you can take. I would do it every time I am in Shanghai. Thank you, Lily, for being a truly wonderful person and for the perfect experience. I wish all tour guides were like you!

Jianqiao was the host and I was the only guest. Jianqiao talked a lot about food, place, city, etc., and she was very caring about my likes and dislikes. The places are not listed in the latest “地球の歩き方” and “るるぶ” (These are major guidebooks in Japan.), those are local, popular and have histories. Jianqiao was a nice guide and this experience was valuable to me!
