What you'll do

Explore the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument — a forest preserved for its biodiversity just 30 minutes from downtown Ashland, Oregon. We’ll start by filling up our water at a natural springs. We'll then take a short drive to the Soda Mountain Wilderness and walk along the Pacific Crest Trail that goes all the way from Mexico to Canada. We will take in the sweeping landscapes as well as the micro magical details. We will discover the flora and fauna, observe the wildlife, and rediscover our own wildness. We'll enjoy wild-foraged tea and snacks by the fire. The Japanese concept of immersion in nature —"forest bathing" — is an evidence based practice of connecting to nature as a way to heal ourselves, our community, and the Planet. We'll learn a series of fun, stress-reducing exercises to connect with nature as well as techniques to carry this practice forward in our own lives.
