What you'll do

TOUR TAKES PLACE DAILY FROM 10.00AM - 2.00PM

We will meet at the Maghery Community Centre Carpark.

From there, we will start our looped walk along the rugged sea cliffs of Falmore. These breathtaking views will allow you to see for miles to the neighboring islands of Arannmore, Inishfree, Inishkeeragh and Rutland. From here we will continue along through the dotted cottages of Falmore with the rugged heather mountains on one side and views out to the Atlantic, Portnoo and Nairn on the other.

At our halfway point we will stop at the stunning picnic area of Falcorrib, where we will enjoy our lunch looking out over the wild Atlantic.

The second part of our walk takes us inland, where we will enjoy the rolling peaty bogs, roaming sheep, sweeping mountain valleys, and Donegal's famous salt lakes. The last leg of out walk takes us meandering down cleendra with views north to Eriggal and the Derryveagh mountains. Finishing back in Maghery where we started.
Other things to note
Warm waterproof clothes & suitable shoes and of course your camera. I also advise a small day pack as the weather can be unpredictable and clothing may have to be taken on & off.

I have been traveling and working in various capacities as a guide and host both here and in the UK for many years.
I just love being in the outdoors and meeting new people from new cultures and learning about where they are from.

Nature is amazing, and Donegal has some of the most beautiful unspoiled hidden gems of Ireland. I love to go out a few times a week and look for somewhere I have never been before. I am never disappointed—there is something really special about this part of the country, and I would love to share that with my guests.

Collette took us on a very enjoyable walk and gave us insights about the local area and its history. We chatted easily along the way and Collette made us feel very relaxed and welcome to the beautiful countryside she calls home. A great way to see and learn about the Donegal countryside.

Go back in time in County Donegal and learn the history of this amazing place from someone that lives and grew up in the area. The hike provides views of the sea and the countryside which are are breathtaking but learning about the area is definitely the best part!

This is an experience that is not to be missed! Collette will show you so much more about this area then is possible to describe in just a mere listing. Do this hike: you will make so many grand memories of this largely undisturbed part of Ireland & want to return for more! Collette is truly a knowledgeable & engaging, interesting, unique, brilliant, Creative, caring person and just a joy to be around. You will relax around her. You can be yourself as you open your mind & heart to the sounds of the sea on the coast, & the quiet rustle of the wind as the fresh air fills you with the wonder of life & living. The areas she guides you through are alive and you’ll instantly feel a connection to the land.... Halfway through you will stop to eat a lovely homemade lunch prepared by Collette herself who will cater to any dietary restrictions you have. This is not a hike that a person could do alone . In fact, we met a couple along the way who could not find any of the way points for tourists. We stopped and had a wee bit of the banter with them and Collette gave them some tips. This area is to be only fully experienced with Collette, a true local, as your guide. She grew up right there and has so many wonderful stories & histories of the area to share with you! Don’t miss out! I’ve done a lot of walks & hikes in Ireland and this is tops! Can’t recommend enough. Book and see for yourself! :-)

Colette was a superb guide. Knew the area from start to finish. I doubled my step target that day. If you want exercise and a good walk then this is for you. Very easy to talk to and discuss local highlights and life year round in this part of Ireland. Recommended!!

This was such a great experience! The area is gorgeous and Colette is wonderful. These were the best views I saw while in Ireland for two weeks. Colette is very flexible with the course of the walk and goes your pace. If you want to see a truly authentic and untouched part of Ireland, this is how to do it.
