We are Xavi & Helena, born and raised in Barcelona, and we would love to show you around!
Xavi is a local architect with a passion for food! He has lived abroad in five different countries and has also traveled all around the world. He loves eating out and showing friends and guests the lovely architecture that Barcelona has to offer. He keeps a restaurant review blog where he discovers and tries the tastiest restaurants in Barcelona and abroad. He also loves the local market experience in Barcelona.
Helena has lived abroad for more than five years, working as a Spanish language instructor in South Korea. Before, she worked as a visitor assistant in Sagrada Familia where she found love for Gaudí's architecture and his most celebrated work. She loves meeting with her friends after work for a beer and some spicy patatas bravas.

Xavi is a great, very friendly guide to Barcelona.
As a native of the city he knows some excellent tapas restaurants (which almost spoiled us for the rest of our holiday!), taking you beyond the tourist traps and to authentic places where locals go to eat. He introduced us to lots of special dishes which we didn't know about before and which we often sought out during the rest of our holiday!
As an architect he shared really interesting insights into the buildings around Barcelona - it made us really feel the sense of history in the city - and took us to lesser known sites which we hadn't seen before (even though some of us were on our 2nd or 3rd trip to Barcelona!)
He maintains a really useful website full of handy tips you can ask him for too :)

Xavi was a great tour guide and we loved all the tapa locations and architecture locations that he chose for us. They were off the beaten track and obviously would popular amongst the locals. We would never of had these experiences without him. Xavi was awesome and the six of us would do this tour again in a heartbeat. Loved it!

A wonderful introduction to Barcelona’s architectural history and beloved tapas establishments. Xavi was a kind and considerate host, with a knack for choosing memorable architectural highlights spanning the city’s 2,000+ year history, as well as quality tapas eateries featuring their own artisanal vermut and cavas in a bustling atmosphere. He was dedicated to providing a great experience, asking about any dietary preferences or prior knowledge of the city. I look forward to revisiting these places and discovering more gems on Xavi’s mini guide on a future trip to the city!
