What you'll do

Hi, I'm Matt. You might have seen me talking about history on the Travel Channel's "Mysteries of the Museum" or "Monumental Mysteries" but I wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for Central Park. In 2009, I fell in love with the park and started researching it extensively. Eventually I started taking people through for guided walks that became pretty popular. So popular in fact, that Travel Channel asked me to speak about the park on TV. The rest is history... no pun intended.

Join me and my friends Chris, Heather, and Kelsey as we share our love for this incredible place with you. Discover New Yorkers' favorite places to go on dates or hang out, learn the history of the park, its significance to the city, and see locations from your favorite films.

Highlights include:
- Shakespeare Garden: A secluded garden for star-crossed lovers.
- Bethesda Fountain: The most filmed location in Central Park, a gorgeous angel in our park.
- Bow Bridge: Arguably the park's most romantic bridge, featured heavily in films and on TV.
- Heckscher Ballfield: You just might spot a celebrity playing on their league!
-Strawberry Fields: A John Lennon memorial. You'll see where he lived on the tour too.
Other things to note
Wear comfortable shoes, we'll be walking about 4 miles. Be prepared for all types of weather as we'll go rain or shine. Show up fifteen minutes before so that you can find me at the meeting location.

I'm an actor, tour guide, and food lover. I've been featured numerous times on Travel Channel talking about New York City's history. I really love my city and showing people around it. It's incredibly unique. Since it's founding in 1629, it's attracted people from all over the world with big dreams, just like mine.

I work with three other incredible guides: Chris, Heather, and Kelsey. We've spent time pouring over old maps, plans, and newspaper articles and watching movies shot in the park to make sure we can answer any question you throw at us.

The tour was great. Matt is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We were just a small group of 4, so it felt like a real private tour. The park is wonderful and especially magical during sunset. Highly recommended!

Very nice experience. Matt told us a lot about how Central park came about and how it is maintained. I enjoyed the walk into the sunset.

Matt's tour of Central Park at Sunset was great. We were spoiled with an almost private tour of the park since the rain kept many people away. We got lots of photos of the park and Matt was gracious enough to take a few them for us. The professional courtesies and customer service given by Matt were above and beyond what I expected! Matt offered to move the tour up a day because of the rain, but my husband and I weren't in the area yet, and I had asked him if the tour was going to be cancelled due to the weather. Matt gave us hope and said no that is still on. Even after having trouble with the meeting place and delaying our start time Matt was so understand and gave us a personalized tour, he asked us what we wanted to see and was able to focus and direct the tour to our interests! This experience was great and I highly recommend it to anyone! Eric and Xenia Monroe

Our Central Park tour with Matt was fabulous! He is a wealth of information! This is our first visit to NYC and I’m so glad our introduction to Central Park was this experience. We learned so much and gained a much deeper appreciation for the Park and the city thanks to Matt. The New York Marathon was in full swing during our tour but Matt seamlessly adjusted around all the race activity. He is a delightful guide and his passion for CP is obvious. I highly recommend this experience!
