What you'll do
We will explore the Jean Talon Market with stops at some of my favourite stalls and stores where we will do some tastings and have one on one conversations with the vendors about their products. I'll tell you about the market's history and the neighbourhood's history and the Montreal food scene. You'll also be able to buy some edible gifts or produce to cook with while you stay in Montreal. Come hungry! Contact me if you have specific dates in mind and can't make it on any of the already set dates.
Other things to note
Bring a tote bag, your camera, walking shoes.

I have been a food and travel writer and blogger for the past 9 years, and I love showcasing my discoveries, especially when they happen to be in my hometown of Montreal. I live 2 blocks from the Jean Talon Market and know it and its vendors really well.
Where you'll be
The Jean Talon Market is Montreal's largest farmers market and the biggest open air market in North America. On any given day, we may visit a cheese monger, a smoked fish producer, an artisanal bakery, an ice cream parlour, a forager's stand, a chef's stall, and quite a few fruit and vegetable vendors.

Visiting the Jean Talon Food Market is a great experience. There are many markets to explore. The guide, Mayssam, is a food writer and has good knowledge of the market and took us to her favorite stalls. We also got to sample some of the food. Good to get there early before the market gets crowded.

Mayssam's years of experience of the Jean-Talon market really comes through, her passion and knowledge are inspiring! Tasted some delicious food and drink and left with a bag full of goodies! Highly recommended if you're a foodie, but even if you're not it's still an interesting place to be.
