Afrobeat Fit is the perfect marriage of my passion for my West African culture and my love for dance. I was born partially deaf which was corrected by surgery and my mother enrolled me in dance classes soon after. I often joke that the first thing I heard was music. I started dancing at the tender age of 2 and continued dancing, training and working as a professional dance to this very day. I am in love with Afro Dance, Tap, Hip Hop and Step Dance.
I currently work as a Director of Diversity and Inclusion at a local college.

I had a blast at Kemi's Afrobeats class! She took the time to talk through and breakdown the moves one by one at the beginning of class. She also provided really interesting background on where certain moves originated. Great workout and would do it again in a heartbeat!

This was a really fun class! I loved learning about the cultural meaning behind the routines, and Kemi was lively and energetic, and a skilled dancer! The only issue with the class was that a number of people were late; my fiance had to leave the class early to get to work and didn't feel like we got our full money's worth. Although this is no fault of the host, I felt she could have cut some of the warm-up time shorter in order to keep everything on time, or have the later guests join in when they arrived.
