No experience needed. I keep the groups small to allow for group and one on one instructions so everyone feels safe and is able to enjoy themselves fully.

I value the richness of traveling through our environment, self propelled. Here we are reminded, once again, to move with our environment. I am an avid kayaker, passionate about where I live and all that can be seen on our beautiful coast. After 15 years of guiding I have started my own company called Wild Root Journeys. I invite you to join me this summer to experience what this giant backyard has to offer! If the dates don't match your needs check out my other kayak experience under "Kayak Beautiful Burrard Inlet"!

A wonderful experience. Silke is genuine, friendly and teaches you tips on how to improve your kayaking skills. She knows alot about her city and nature, and all of these knowledge nuggets are conveyed throughout the trip. You will leave knowing more about Vancouver than when you started. Can't recommend enough.

Silke was a great guide. She made sure we knew all three basics about how to safely kayak, and on the trip she pointed out a lot of interesting landmarks and wildlife. I really enjoyed the experience!

I've never been kayaking before, Silke explained everything really well. I got to see some seals and an eagle's nest. I really enjoyed the experience. Now, I'm a lot less afraid to do things like these. Thank you for a wonderful time, Silke.

This kayaking trip was one of the highlights of our Vancouver trip. We were given all the info we needed and spent a few hours on the water with views of the city and Stanley Park. Silke was very fun and knows a lot about her city... Great experience to do with friends!

Silke had all the gear we needed, was there early, taught us all we needed to go out, then gave an awesome tour. She told us the history of what we were seeing and had some fun stories of her long kayak tours. It was sad to leave at the end, but I’m grateful for the good times. It was hard to believe it was only 4 hours!
